because people focus on the things that they dont have. They are lack of appreciation of what they have. They dont accept their own self or on what they cannot do. Some people are jealous because they are insecure of things that they cant have.

People tend to be jealous of the results, as well as of luck. Never have I ever seen a person complain that they are jealous of herd work! So the topic starter confuses me a bit)))

People start judging others only by positive content they post on Facebook and so on, and the reason for jealousy is this constant exxageration of achievements and luck. There are many types of jealousy , and we have different opinion , perspective on it. For me jealousy is when you love some on , obviously when he/she met other or happy with someone else you jealous , Jealous of love or affection , next is attention for example is you have a job well done or , you have a successful work or you've done it well , and you want attention but the other person notice , not you. So you jealous like what you said kind of like a envy. There are many kinds of jealousy but for me is the main reason of envy is the attention , you want to notice  , appreciation kind of like that. And that is true jealousy leads to envy , in the other hand some of us because of envy or jealousy , we been selfish and sometimes you want to seek a revenge.

It is part of our nature. People are always envy and they always crave for things that they don't have. Perhaps did  you mean not jealousy but envy? because these two feelings differ in direction. jealousy is when a person is too egoistic and believes that everyone should dance around him, and envy is when a person is focused more on other people and constantly comparing himself with them
