I believe now it's a perfect time to invest in good ICOs.. what does it mean? A competent development team is the most important point. You should know very good who is behind the project, their past projects... people are the key point of successful ICO.

You are a newbie. Therefore, you should spend a bit of money to trade. You have to learn many things. With the rest of money, you can find a good ICO to invest. Livestars an example.

Hi, everyone. I got about $5000 to invest in crypto. Which one is more secure and profitable: trade crypto (yes, I'm a newbie) or invest in ICO?
I've made my own research and investing in several ICO's seems more attractive for me, but want to know your opinions Wink

Recently there are very few ICO that give + at the outlet for investors (only if you wait long). This is somehow profitable for those who buy tokens on pre-sale with high persents. I'm more inclined to trading. About the word "safely" you can forget))) But if you find a really good ICO, then it will certainly bring you profit.

the investment you made in ICO is right to collect altcoin and expect good prices and get better results

Better to invest in to ICO's but with good technology which have a potential, i would recommend to invest in to platforms which can implement new tokens,  long term investments having a bit potential

I suggest, to try both because trading and Ico are both profitable if you do it right. Both have risks and advantages. For prevention of bad risks such as ico that you follow is a scam then from that try both is the correct choice and minimize you from losing money overall.

If you have 5000$, I recommend you to invest 1000$ each for each ICO projects, and one of those ICO project that is very potentials and has volume market are Earth token, Caviar, Utrust, Mavin, and Fidentiax those are good to invest in I can assure you with that.

Personally i prefer trading altcoins after ico when they have a product to sell. It's hard now to find a trusty ico to invest in.

Go ahead and learn some crypto trading skills. Investing in ICO is not only risky but also the returns will be coming a bit late. I am not saying it is not a good way to invest but for a beginner like you I think the much better option would be trading. Here is what you should do: buy some good coins and then try to take a little amount from it to trade for yourself. This will be your learning experience. Take note of your entry and exit prices.

I think both of them have the same risk, either investment in trade or ICO.
it is probably the safest to buy bitcoin and keep it in the long run, because we know bitcoin prices continue to rise from year to year

Dear, I think trading would be a better choice. Investing in ICO can be very long time process.
But if you don't have enough knowledge in trading, you can loser anytime. so when you are a professional trader then trading is better. otherwise ICO is the best option to invest.

well, I won't invest much more into ICO since it seems got high risk to take and your ROI may be even minus.
cause it could be scam or develop the coin ain't properly and stopped like nothing and u lose everything u invested into.
so, I used to trade, but you need to learn about it, like doing good tech analysis.
even though, it still can mislead, but u can minimize it

agree today there was a lot of ICO's popping out without even knowing who are the people behind those project's and the sad part is they are taking millions of people money and run away in the end , It's is very risky now to invest on ICO's much better if your just gonna use it on trading at least if it lost it's is all on you not on random people pretending to have good projects

I started off by buying a well known crypto and then trading a very small amount, about $10 worth, trying to buy the lows and sell the highs. I had lots of successes and lots of mistakes, the successes helped to absorb the cost of mistakes. Then I got in to 2 ICOs again with small amounts, couple of hundred dollars. Again I learnt the ropes with these.

Now I do a bit of both, trade and ico's. Hope that helps.

To be honest with you, it’s never 100% secure to invest in cryptos. However If you’re willing to take the risk, you could as well invest in ico’s, which have the highest potential to rise a lot in price. Metta looks good to me, however that’s a personal pick and in no way investment advice. You should do your own research and then perhaps pick a project you really believe in yourself.

there are many scam ICOs, who have no job prospects and just take your money and take it away
my advice try trading, but for beginners should be in small quantities first, if it is felt to have experienced try to invest a larger.

You can choose both if you are now have full knowledge of both. As what you said, you are still newbie. Be careful on investing in trading since you might lost all you investment if you are not keen about it same as ICO make further research on the project and everything about it before you make any decision.

With that money you can do both, 60% trading for larger profit and disseminate your money to different coins or focus on 1 coin. 40% will be on ICO but make sure you did an extensive research before investing into one. Some ICO are shady and Scam , but some are promising. You just have to extend your patience in ICO but returns are great as well if you hodl for awhile. goodluck with your decision though it's your choice
