TREZOR support for BTG is now enabled and working great
https://twitter.com/TREZOR/status/932626955274514433
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Dev why is your official wallet showing a virus?

I know there are false positives in a lot of QT wallets but this one is on Malwarebytes, first time I have experienced that.

Are you guys doing something to remove it?

The link you posted was created from a uploaded file from a unknown source there is  no way of knowing its origin
let me also ask.

I download this wallet on my computer at Nov 16, 2017 (from official site !)
Here is his analysis.
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/53e01dd7366e87fb920645b29541f8487f6f9eec233cbb43032c60c0398fc9fa/detection

Today I downloaded the wallet anew.
Here is his analysis.
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/8e9d4cb73116beb173d6079792d474ba29488c6de30a05d2d77bff7850c80b0d/detection

You do not know the origin?
Do you want to hint that users are fools or scammers?
Anyone can download this wallet to his PC and upload it to virustotal.com for check.

However, if I do NOT download the wallet to PC and check by reference, I will get ANOTHER result.

Damn it, EVERYONE can check it out.
Are you trying to deceive the community?

WTF !!
What's going on here ?
Why is the same file being checked in different ways, different results for the same file !

my suggestion:
For analysis by reference, one file is provided, and for users, another.

P.S.
all this is very sad, and undermines confidence.

Where the world is going. Why you can not work honestly.
I like this coin ! I'm sure it will take a worthy place among others if users will not doubt about the honesty of the development team.

Ive tried uploading various version and yes all report the same red flags, I then tried various version of bitcoin cash and the same red flags, then I tried the true and tested bitcoin core and still the same red flags no matter what full wallet I uploaded I got the same red flags

Yeah there is no reason for it to be in the wallet so they should remove it.

And you are correct it does undermine confidence.  People are more likely to have it on an exchange than a potentially infected QT Wallet.

You do realise the full wallet is a full mining node and the exchanges run the exact same software to to store your coins in their hot wallets and to interface with the network

Maybe it's just a false alarm.
(however I am very concerned about the presence of such viruses as Win32.Trojan.WisdomEyes.xxx)

But there are professionals working on the exchanges, they can delete some code and recompile, but I do not know how to do it.
In any case, I took the maximum security measures and so far everything is fine.

Anyone who downloaded the Windows Wallet file between November 21, 2017, 09:39 UTC, and November 25, 2017, 22:30 UTC, should not use the file in any way.

I downloaded it on November 23, the SHA256 hash is 53e01dd7366e87fb920645b29541f8487f6f9eec233cbb43032c60c0398fc9fa. Your webite says this is the correct hash?

I don't know enough about the code or project to offer support or condemnation but malware bytes is awful. Had previous experience of them blocking a website and when we finally got a response they just refused to even look at it or fix the false possitive.

Again I don't know if that's the case here or not. Perhaps someone with technical knowledge and a stake in this project could reverse engineer the code and check outgoing connections to see if there is a problem or not.

Why even make a comment if you have no fucken idea what you are talking about?

They have posted it themselves on their website that the wallets are infected you idiot.

They never said they were infected just that the checksum did not match and should be seen as compromised.

Since there have been 0 reports of stolen funds we can only come up with a few scenarios

1. The files were harmless and were not compromised (Maybe slight corruption on upload)
2. No one downloaded the file during that time (bearing in mins it was only the windows version and pretty much all companies use the linux version or build from source)
3. If it was compromised and a users key was stolen then no action has yet taken place (unlikely since it's been warned the hacker would want a quick exit while it possible)

I was stolen by Bitcoin Gold !!!!

https://btgexp.com/address/GX4wntkpnSKE2WzztLy8zFr4Lffw42PmGW

this is NOT my transaction.
but this is my wallet!

I'm a real person! and I'm not lying.
my wallet on the disconnected drive.
for me it's a lot of money.

It seems that the fraudsters developed, introduced into the purses of the virus, which he translated to himself.

It may help others not to happen to them what happened to you if you describe, step by step, what you have done before this was stolen from you.

It may help others not to happen to them what happened to you if you describe, step by step, what you have done before this was stolen from you.
I took a separate hard drive (also disabled all other drives) and installed new Windows 7 x64, then installed the Comodo 10 firewall, and after updated it.
I did not install anything else.
Then I downloaded this wallet from official site.
https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/

I waited for the synchronization.
Then I made import of the keys from the wallet of bitcoin (the bitcoins were no longer there).
Having received my coins, I created a new address to receive and sent all the coins there to my own address.
Of course I installed a long complicated password in my wallet.
After that I turned off the hard drive from the computer and did not connect anymore.
I also used the same address for mining on my small rigs.

After I followed the development of the coin, I held it and did not sell it.
Sometimes I went into the explorer to check that coins were sent to me from the pool.

Today I again decided to look at my balance in the explorer.
And I saw that all my coins were transferred to another address.
ALL.
Here is my address
https://btgexp.com/address/GX4wntkpnSKE2WzztLy8zFr4Lffw42PmGW

In my country this is huge money.
To earn so much, ordinary people must work hard for 9-11 months.
I am very sad  Sad  Sad Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

I think there's a back door in the wallet, scammers used it to send the keys over the net.
I can not say whether all the developers are scammers or just some of them.

But now this project Bitcoin Gold

and these names

Jack Liao
h4x3rotab
Robert Kuhne
Alejandro Regojo
Martin Kuvandzhiev
Franco Niebles

will be associated me with scam.

It's good that I installed the wallet on a separate hard drive.
Otherwise it would be possible the purse stole my other coins, and maybe my personal data.

Yes, my mistake is that I trusted the development team and did not transfer the coins to a reputable exchange.

There is an important step missing where the dots are, before the rest happened. You haven't installed any proper antivirus at this point. Windows 7 legal version, not patched? Comodo 10 payed version or cracked? If not payed legal versions of these two, any of them can introduce virus into your system since you didn't have antivirus. That virus can infect all other software, including the wallet software.
