Do I understand correctly that this platform will provide debit cards for its users?
Why do you think so?
Where did you read this?

I read it in the whitepaper and I'm not sure about this information. I would like to clarify, maybe I am mistaken in something?

Most likely the developers had in mind a debit account, not a card.
This will be a virtual debit account, which can be shared in various online stores (for example). I think this will work just like this.

The developers state that Coinvest will be an open source software product. What are the advantages of this decision?
Why do we need open source code in the concept of this product? Huh

Most likely this is done in order to form a certain community around its product.
This community will offer its own options for the development of certain parts of the software product. For example, as the operating system Linux.
It seems to me that it is so =)

Actually, no. There will be a real debit card, which you can pay in any stores.
In the earliest times, read Whitepaper more carefully. Wink

Sounds interesting. But it seems to me that such serious projects related to investing, trading, etc. should be developed by experts and specialists in this field.
Maybe I'm just mistaken, since I have no experience in software development. In any case, it will be interesting to take a look at the product!

At what stage is the project now?
Has the pre-sale of the tokens already begun?
Actually, no. pre-sale will begin in 55 days only
Really ?? Shocked
Why so long? I thought pre-sale has already begun, or will begin soon. What is the reason for this? I mean such a long wait ??

Our public pre-sale begins on January 14th and will consist of the remaining tokens that are unsold from our private whitelist.  The private whitelist is currently available now.  You can register for more information on our website at https://coinve.st.

Most likely the developers want to carefully work out the product, to present it to more people. Take PR for your camping pre-sale.
In addition, the bounty campaign is an integral part of all this. Wink

@Wiak2

You got it right!  We made a strategic decision to give us more time to market the crowdsale, for users to try our upcoming beta, and because of the large upcoming holidays.  We also want to be the best crowdsale option for 2018 and to kick off the new year.

Everyone should note that our public pre-sale begins on January 14th and will consist of the remaining tokens that are unsold from our private whitelist.  The private whitelist is currently available now.  You can register for more information on our website at https://coinve.st.

So, if I understand correctly, is this a platform that will allow you to trade different currencies on the same platform?

That's correct!  Additionally, with only needing one wallet.  We want to become the one-stop shop for everyone to be able to purchase, invest, trade AND spend cryptocurrencies all together in one solution (that is simple and secure).

I hope they will translate their project. I mean the site and the WhitePaper.
They also made a strange decision. We placed our WP on a google disk, and now it is impossible to copy the text from there. It is very uncomfortable!  Undecided
Why is it uncomfortable?
In my opinion this is a good decision!
The problem is that I do not speak English well. Copy the text and use the Google translator, too, does not work, because the text has limitations on this. Therefore, placing the WP in this form seems to me not a very good idea

Hi Tarzan -

What language are you looking for our whitepaper to be translated in?  Our press release and whitepaper are currently available in English, Russian, and Chinese.  I've provided the links below.  This will all be updated with these languages on our website this week as well:

Hi Teal Deer and Wiak!

Yes, we plan to offer a debit account AND card for our users.  That integration would happen in late 2018 pending a successful crowdsale.  It doesn't make sense to invest in cryptocurrencies if you can't easily use them.  So our wallet and debit account solves this problem and enables users to spend their assets at any merchant that supports debit cards around the world.

We want to become the one-stop shop for everyone to be able to purchase, invest, trade AND spend cryptocurrencies all together in one solution (that is simple and secure).

Hi Lordmick and Sakiri -

Sakiri is right on in that we want to build a strong development community around our platform in order to ensure the security, safety, and stability of the platform.  In order to do that, a community of developers needs to be able to review the code and validate this.  We also support the openess and transparency of the blockchain industry.  Therefore, open-source is the best way to achieve this.

Our protocol and tools will always be open source so that developers can use and build on top of them.  By doing so, it also enables more companies to build on top of the Coinvest protocol and increase transaction volume which in turns enables Coinvest to use net profit to acquire more COIN tokens for the reserve (and increasing COIN value).

Great feedback Lordmick.  We would counter that a platform should be built by great technologies, mathmaticians, and data scientists (with advisory counsel from investment and trading professionals).  The Coinvest platform and all great technology is dependent on mathmatical operations and a strong code base.  Those are strengths of our team given our background and experience.  We have decades of software development experience with specialists in the field of data science and finance from companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Moneygram, and more.

We are also leveraging outside experts in the field of investment and trading for advisory as needed.  Once we are able to secure additional funding, one of our first hires will be from the investment banking field to assist with asset management.

I think that with the help of smart contacts it is possible to implement many functions of interesting investors and that are not specified in the WP.
I understand that smart contracts are just beginning their way into the global economy, but there are very few ideas for application so far. Can you give an example?
Judging by the lack of your answer so far I conclude that you can not give an example of the application of smart-contracts.

Apparently it's just chatter..  Grin

Hi Rockertron - We don't believe in chatter.  We believe in results.   Smiley  We responded with the below yesterday.  Please view:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2381017.msg24772974#msg24772974

Smart contracts are extremely valuble for the financial industry in our business.  For example, they can help us:
-  Streamline and improve financing efficiencies for buyers, suppliers and institutions
-  Streamline post-trade processes, removing duplicative processes executed by each counterparty for verifying trades and conducting appropriate trade events
-  Provide accurate, transparent financial data recording to improvide data integrity

As a result provide reduced costs, faster / greater liquidity of financial assets and increased market stability.

Other industries are leveraging smart contracts to eliminate third-parties, reduce costs and increase efficiency as well.  Unfortunately there are few good examples in the blockchain space today as it is still early... We hope to break that mold.

Thanks!

Thank You too!

I know about what smart-contracts are and what they are capable of.
But no offense, you guys from Microsoft are too smart for me and people like me who read the WP Coinvest for making a decision about investing.
And after reading this post, I can also say that you are again talking about High matters. With your permission, I can propose an applied task for smart-contracts of Financial System Coinvest.

Are You not against?

Hi Rocketron -

We are always open to any ideas that the community suggests including yours.   Smiley  That's one of the reasons why we are electing to ensure our code is open-source.  So that we can continue to get feedback from our community to improve and make this the platform that the users want.

As our whitepaper states:  Coinvest is a company and community built for the people… by the people.   Cheesy

As for Coinvest, our specific smart contact functionality enables us to do a few things:
-  Record investment data to the blockchain
-  Hold and distribute user funds based upon certain conditions

Thus eliminating the need for a third-party broker (human) to document or ever touch funds since it is all autonomous and handled by computer code.  There are other examples that are using smart contracts to do eliminate the need for third parties brokers as well.   For example, betting platform (Dao Casino), prediction markets (Augur), etc.
