I'm mining 9Mhash/s using an Nvidia 9600GT.
Is this optimal or could it be better? I'm using poclbm.exe to mine

Use ATI cards only, Nvidia cards are not efficient at mining.

I'm using dual 6970s and get about 750 mh/sec using poclbm. Had to buy a new power supply and case as well though, so my ROI is going to take a while (if at all )

oh wow I'm wasting my time then. You think I should try using my CPU instead (quad core 750 i5 @ 2.67 Ghz)? If so, what app?
I'm probably going to buy an ATi very soon anyway.

5770 I've been playing around with different settings but this is what I'm doing now: 960 core/800 mem phoenix miner with the 2 modifications mentioned in the miner software forum x2 miner1 -k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT WORKSIZE=128 FASTLOOP=true AGGRESSION=5 miner2 -k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT WORKSIZE=128 FASTLOOP=true AGGRESSION=6 total I get about 219 mhash/sec edit: also using SDK 2.1 and driver 10.11 edit2: also, the desktop is plenty responsive

At this point in time, only the ATI/AMD cards in the 5xxx and 6xxx lines are anywhere near efficient enough to make it worthwhile.
I've been told the 6870, 5770, 5850 and 5870 are particular efficient.

GPU Core: 950.0 Memory: 900.0 Nothing else changed (except fan)
Edit: up to 289 with GPU at 974. Anything higher, and I crash :\ Temps are low though (high ~70)

5870 - 900Mhz clock 300 Mhz memory 390 MHash/s 6970 - default clock and memory 340 MHash/s
5 cores of my cpu = 12 MHash/s
I wish I could down clock my memory of the 6970 card, it improved the hash rate on my 5870 and makes the card run cooler.
The 5xxx range of ATI cards is the better choice for mining

I am running Nvidia 9500 GT and I only get not even 1 Mh/s. Must be doing something wrong. I am using the poclbm via gui miner. I actually do better with the Ufasoft CPU miner. I've been pool mining for three days and have only earned 5/1000 BTC. I just started the CPU about 20 mins ago. Very sad.

ATI Radeon HD 5770 @ Stock settings and "-v -w128" flag -> 180ish M/hash oh wow I'm wasting my time then. You think I should try using my CPU instead (quad core 750 i5 @ 2.67 Ghz)? If so, what app?
I'm probably going to buy an ATi very soon anyway.
Don't waste your time with that either. I have a 2600 i7 @ 3.4 Ghz and only get 2.4 M/hash.

238 Mhash/sec with a 6850 @ 950/850 using GUIMiner & Phoenix & phatk kernel on aggression level 4. See this thread for a solid few percent increase in hashing speed. (Thanks to bitless!)

50MHash/s per card, so 100MHash/s total. I am using 2x NVidia GTX 260s. I am looking to upgrade to triple 5850s very soon though!

Threads like these make me feel good about my ~850MH/s between a 5850 & 2x5830.
Good thing my 2x5830 rig is 100% paid off, and I'm not hurting as bad as some with the difficulty change.

Please don't point and laugh But is there any point in me trying to mine at 500 Khash/S?
