ETH or LTC long term?

Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus? 

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

ETH and LTC are undoubtedly the great altcoins for safe investors now. I believe that in the future the price of ETH will soon rise to over $ 320 in Q4 and LTC will soon reach $ 200.
upcoming Halving events will definitely help LTC to raise prices very high and I think the peak price will be $ 200. You should buy LTC at 95 - 97 $ and use 70% of your capital to invest in it. that is the most logical division.

What is that lightcoins are you talking about ? The topic is only for ltc and eth  .

Both coins are altcoins and altcoins are considered light coins due to their lighter value  . They are less demand in which they are fast but to the comparison between ltc and eth , we can clearly see that ltc is less inexpensive and is more lighter than compare to eth  .

 If you love to shop , gamble ,pay  or use cryptos online on a regular basis then ltc might be suitable for you .

If you are worried because the price of ETH is too high for your favorite price, please keep waiting or you can all print to LTC. We already know that the LTC event is just under 75 days and its price is still stable at $ 97- $ 103.
This is a good time to buy more than LTC and buy less than ETH. LTC will definitely bring you more profits if you buy at an average price of $ 100.

In the year 2017 LTC and ETH rose very high. And the two coins are very promising. So that people predict that the coin is able to compete with BTC. But with the time that keeps going the price of BTC is also very remarkable pumping. And a very sharp decline in the year 2018 also in the natural all coins. LTC and ETH are excellent for long-term investments.

The advantages of ETH are many devs. from third parties who continue to develop so that makes ethereum great, and of course the long-term trend is ethereum so that I prefer ethereum rather than ETC.

both of these coins do have really good potential. but, I think people are indeed more inclined to ETH. besides because of the potential that is the same as bitcoin, I think, ETH use is easier than LTC. but maybe some people will choose LTC because the price is cheaper.

I have never seen a significant increase from Litecoin, so I have the opinion that ethereum will be more profitable if it is used as a long-term investment compared to Litecoin.

for this moment i think Litecoin is worthed than Ethereum, because investor and community from litecoin are back again in market, for what.
because in august Litecoin are passing halving periode, that's why this moment is too meaningful

No one knows the answer of your question even Charlie Lee or Vitalik Buterin. Just try to make a portfolio with a healthy percentage. You can always change the percentage.

I think they will both do well, but I think ETH will have more adoption in the form of games and dapps.

I currently still believe in ETH for long-term investment and from the beginning I was sure with that and in a long-term investment with altcoin it takes enormous confidence and patience as the most important capital for every investor.

Believing on ETH will show especially in tough times, it's still the same coin, the same project but the market changes.
Its price does not always show its real values, fundamentals of ETH is good so you have to believe on it and invest by holding it for long term .

Store more ETH inside your wallet and hold until it reaches your target profits, inside this investment venue nothing is certain only surprise is yet to expect, when bitcoin creat new big jump this coin will follow and get a good lift so better to aim for long term investment so you'll be able to catch the high valuation.

you are right, but for LTC it might be better for short-term trading. we can see now that the growth of LTC prices is fairly fast, we can benefit from that. whereas ethereum has a fairly slow price movement, we will have it for the long term.

you're right, it's just that having both will be very difficult to focus on. this much, I'm only holding back ETH, because I think the price can be very high for this year. however, we know that the potential of LTC is indeed great. but, I prefer ETH because I also use it for other things.

for the short term now maybe we can invest in litecoin first. when we have benefited we can move to altcoins in the long run. because I think Litecoin will be very good for the short term in the next few months.

for sure i will waiting for that, because i will be very happy if ethereum can reach more than $4K buddy
and i think we can't comparing ethereum and litecoin for long term investments, because both altcoins is good for long term in my analysis
