People sell bitcoins because they are afraid of the volatility of the bitcoin's market because they can easily make and lose money and if they think that they earned enough money for their expenses then they will just sell bitcoin without thinking about it for twice and that is the typical bitcoin user but if you are really into bitcoin then you will hold it for long term.
In my opinion Bitcoin is made for the purpose to buy and sell it. Now there are various reasons of selling BTC, many people selling means many reasons at a time. Everyone has their own reasons to sell in which I think the most recognized one is that people can hold till the time they don’t need fiat. At any time anyone needs fiat they immediately sell the Bitcoin to collect fiat. From a trader point of view the selling of Bitcoin reason will be different. The trader may sell Bitcoin to take profit from high price. Some of the people sell Bitcoin due to a panic situation in the market. It's simply an asset and you can sell/buy it. This should be seen as usual. I see some guys are blaming those selling bitcoins. Maybe they need money, we don't know this from outside. So never blame others for selling bitcoins. |

Just like gold, people buy bitcoin mostly of its investment value. If you bought at a low price, why wouldn't you sell it when it's high? It is called a currency because you can use it, the only time you won't sell it is when you prefer putting your asset in bitcoin rather than in the bank.

Actually, I use bitcoins more as an investment than an alt money, blogchain stuff etc... I think other alts like Ethereum will make a better job that BTC for this function. And yeah, buy btc is, again actually, a great way to improve your moneybag.  |

It works like this; people start selling because they are in panic by being afraid that bitcoin can go lower. they sell and price drops and it causes even more panic selling. The bitcoin value is slowly going down right now and people begin to panic because they want to make the most money out of the huge pump that happened. I think that there will be a even better pump in the future so i think you should just save your bitcoin and wait for that moment to happen. Because bitcoin has gotten very popular because of how much it is worth now and a lot of company's want to make some money out of it. |

I use it as entry point to altcoin trading. Anyway, the reason why people are selling bitcoin is because they need money for their daily needs or another investment. Some are just shaken when FUD roams the market, afraid that their bitcoin holding will be worthless. |
