It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Hope someone might be able to help me I have for about a week now not been able to sync up my wallet. I have upgraded to alpha 2 yesterday to try to see if that helps but still nothing. I have been at 3.3% for the whole time. My wife also has the same problem and they both show the same amount of blocks remaining.

you are synced to some cancer nodes. delete peers.dat from you nanotoken folder in the app data directory. you're synced but someone with the old client is trying to spam you an alternate chain.

yep, whoever is doing it is using a couple of modified clients to try and take over the network. they'll eventually give up

delete peers.dat

I had noirc enabled (noirc=1 in the configuration file.)  Until I turned that off (noirc=0) and re-started, the client was re-setting the max block every few minutes after each hijacker spewed into the block chain.
