Cool idea, I don't understand who say this is scam.

• They don't want any ETH to launch the product.
• They have a product in alpha stage under development
• They stated and demonstrated what the purpose of airdrop race

Who don't want to participate simply go off from this post and avoid writing "scam scam" like monkeys just to raise the activity level, otherwise write your doubts and wait for an answer.

They make you mine to get tokens, and not all miners will get them, only top 1000.
It's worse than ICO, there you are at least sure that you'll get tokens you paid for. Even if they will worth nothing
This distribution model is just a variation of crowdfunding merged with gambling.

You are right only top 1000 will get the Cognx token. But even on airdrop based on google form or such there are limitations.
About gambling we develop this fundraising strategy to limit the probability and make everything as clear as possible. In the RESULT PAGE everyone can check his position in realtime and if you are beyond position 1000 you can check with the form present in the page how far your hash rate is from the 1000th position.

I please ask you to read the whitepaper where you can find all necessary information.

NEW RULES FOR THE AIRDROP RACE N.2 THAT WILL START AT 2017 05 December, 14:00 GMT:

Tokens will be distributed according to the distance (hash rate) achieved during the race for the first 1000 different wallets!
As usual you will have a page updated in real time that will show you the number of tokens linked to your wallet that will be airdropped at the end of the race.
The token distribution is proportional to the distance travelled with a max cap at 30000 token. All measurements are automatic in real time and then continuously updated. Check your position every day!

The first airdrop is going to close in a few hours.

In pseudo code is something like:
tokens = single_runner_distance*1000000/total_distance_of_all_runners
if tokens>30000 then tokens=30000

also for the AIRDROP RACE no. 1 the CPU power was important. In this way we believe that we can distribute the number of tokens more fairly.
We remind everyone that the race is cumulative, that is, you can start more races with the same wallet from different PCs and even smartphones. The result will be like having a single computer with the power of all the CPUs used.
You can start, stop and restart the race every time you want. The count will restart from the previous point.
We use the authedmine version of CoinHive API, that enforces an opt-in as soon as miner.start() is called. No hidden mining can happen.
You can decide to use 100% of the CPU or only 50% and continue to work as always with your computer or smartphone.
