2 computers sitting side by side.  I sent .02 bitcoin from a 2013 multibit wallet to a Exodus in laptop. 13 days still not Confirmed  I can't add money to the fee in 2013 wallet. so fee shows $.81.  so network won't send it though.  In 13 DAYS it has seen 22 peers. I would pay more fee if I could.  13 Days ! Really!  Get your sh** to gather.  This will Kill Bitcoin! Cry

Do you stop driving a car after 4 years.  do you through away everything after 4 years. Return to sender for low fees. Real easy. Just like a letter. I'm not a computer science major. I was a Truck driver, heavy equipment hauler, oilfield worker, heavy equipment operator, lawn boy and mechanic. 55 years old. They didn't teach computers when i was in school in 1978, it was electric typewriters only not even a Walkman. they had boom boxes.  I'm self tought on computers.  That means I don't know nothing about self destucting software wallets. The NETWORK needs Return to sender.  This is day 14.at 31 peers unconfirmed.

I'm the first to say I'm a dumb a$$.  Everyone is saying I should have known not to use a 4 year old wallet. The Network should have Known I was Going to use a 4yr old wallet  and Return to Sender. They are the Smart People that went to school for computers. not me.  LoL Roll Eyes

Tx of the transaction please , then we can comment.
Besides $ value is irrelevant, tx fees are paid in satoshi.

Yes high transaction fees would probably the reason why people may decide to use other coin and invest to them and if investors will no longer support bitcoin it may soon be out in the circulation and as far as I know many are now experiencing this situation where they need to add additional fees so that their transactions can be processed and the fees are really too high

lol use more fee if you want fast confirmation! Right now bitcoin is just store of value if you want fast and cheap transaction, you can switch to other crypto!

We can't help if you don't post the transaction ID. Multibit is a very old and outdated wallet that probably didn't pay enough fees. This isn't a Bitcoin problem.

Exodus said fees last week was $25.  to $100..  If only the rich can move bitcoins.  You can Kiss it goodbye.  That was the whole idea was little to no Fees.
No. The whole idea was to create an irreversible, transparent & peer-to-peer decentralized digital currency. The idea was never about little to no fees.
Fees have actually gone down over the past year, but Bitcoin's price has gone up significantly. Definitely not a sign of Bitcoin dying now is it?

Yes, this should be a good discussion on bitcoin transaction fee, although it is true that "low fee", but provided nobody is bidding the transasction fee. So, alt coin will replace bitcoin sooner or later if high transasction fee does not solve.

80 cents you put on the fee? That is way too low my friend I put a transaction through last week that cost I think 10-15$ it was shitty but it had to be done. Granted I agree with you the fees should be drastically lower!

If you would post the transaction ID one of us may be able to push the transaction for you. Also recommend you stop using that POS outdated Multibit wallet. Between Multibit and blockchain.info we get more complaints about stuck transactions than any other wallets.

That's why it's better to hold it--and I realize how stupid it sounds, but it's true.  Bitcoin sucks ass as a currency right now.  It's much better as a store of value, and even more so for the rich, that's true.

Everyone who's ever owned bitcoin knows the wait times and fees suck, and yet the market is still giving it a higher value.  That should tell you something about bitcoin "gettting killed".  It ain't, not by a long shot.  Me, I'm a-holding mine for now.

It won't kill Bitcoin but it might kill the 2013 wallet Cheesy
Really man why did you send anything without updating your wallet, especially when you saw that it doesn't allow you to set the fees right?
It's like you started complaining on a windows forum that your win 3.1 has no support...

actually, you can pay an additional fee. please see here:

https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

additionally, there are a few wallets that have the Opt-in Replace-by-fee function. This lets you re-send the same transaction, but with a higher fee. To my knowledge, GreenAddress and Electrum do this only.

and finally, if you a re savvy enough you can simply rebroadcast the transaction with a higher fee. This is a full replace-by-fee, and some pools process these transactions with priority (as the fees are usually superior, the user is obviously in a rush). you are essentially double spending, but its ok because no one is getting ripped off.

Or, you can always wait LOL. but at this point, the tx might fall out of the mempool; you may have these coins back in your wallet sooner than you know Wink

I agree with your restrictions, although transaction costs are low, it could be that alt coins can replace bitcoins sooner or later, hopefully

It is your fault, you are the only one who is dumb as hell, it is not bitcoin's fault.

You said that you sent that money about 13 days ago, it was on november 12th. You should know that the network was very congestionated by that date. And the minimum fee was $25 or $30

Now it is your fault, you putted $0,80 fee, what were you thinking about when you paid that fee?

Go to the services section, ask for one of those guys who are accelerating transactions to accelerate yours, it is not difficult, you will have to pay a fee of $5 to them.

First, you are using a very outdated software and fee estimations of even the latest Bitcoin wallets are pretty bad, so in order to use Bitcoin correctly you have to check manually the current network fees.
Multibit also stop being supported around half a year ago, so you really should have imported your seed to a better wallet. Basically, in Bitcoin it's always the best to make your research first how to do everything properly and only then starting using it - there are many things that can go wrong.
Sooner or later your transaction will get confirmed, so you shouldn't worry that it will be lost. Also, transactions are processed by their fee/byte so it's hard to tell whether your "$.81" was enough or not - if you had many inputs than you might be close to something like 1 satoshi/byte and you'll have to wait really long.
