I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.
My question is, what do I do now?
As far as I can see, I have 4 options;
1) Hold the Bitcoin
2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin
3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.
4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)
Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.
A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:
Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.
Maybe you should invest a little bit into some strong altcoins and hold a good amount of Bitcoin!

Fill out this form and win 1 Ether - https://goo.gl/forms/win91V0u6mljlxHu2"Someone" speculated/predicted four years ago that this will be the trend for Bitcoin: In 2015/2016 = $1000 2017 = $10,000 2019 = $100,000 2021 = $1,000,000 and so on... Now, the trend is a factor of 10 every 2 years as you can see. He pretty much got 2015/2016 and 2017 on point. So there is quite some accuracy in his prediction. So this might help with your decision re your investments. 😉

That price is very big and if you convert your 12 bitcoin the total is 120,000 dollars and that very big amount. You can hold hald of your bitcoin that you have because for sure the price will increase more. Suggest also invest your other bitcoin to different altcoin that help to your bitcoin to grow . It's your choice what option do you think will help to you or the best way to earn money.
If he can manage to divide this budget into promising altcoins, he can end up in $1,000,000 at the end of the next year. This is ver possible when we check amazing price rallies of altcoins this year.

That's a pretty amazing feat you have there. The easy answer is to diversify your portfolio, with most of it in bitcoin, and hope for the best from there. But if you earned 12 bitcoin, what are you doing asking a bunch of strangers on the internet? Obviously most of us don't have even half as much as you do, so I'm not sure what you're trying to get out of this.
What you should be asking yourself is what is the end goal for you? You could say more money, sure, but that will only take you so far, and you can only be so successful. People go to school for this, they study for this, they spend years of their lives learning the fundamental properties of trading and stock markets and the like. You have $120,000 USD in the form of one of the most volatile currencies in the world, so honestly why not ask what you can do with it to improve yourself and your life to better prepare you for big-time trading. Your 12 bitcoin could be a one-time break or it could be the start of the rest of your life, but one thing is for sure, if you take advice from random people on the internet who have ABSOLUTELY no reason to want you to succeed, then you will not make it very far.

I think you should sell it as soon as possible. prices will fall. Prices will be bought again and you will get 13 bitcoins This is a very good idea, haha.. but if 12btc did not sell at your message, then it is abit too late now, as correction done, price climbs back again.

I cashed out on the recent surge at around 10500 and I would suggest you to exit as well. Price levels above 10k sound very ridiculous to me. I'm thinking of reinvesting the profits into the ICO of Amor (amorcoin.org) which starts this weekend. Buy during the first 2/3 days and get the tokens at one third price!

Just hold man and store in separate hardware wallets. By next year you will be a millionaire.
If you have to play in the market, sell a couple and keep building.

Trade with them til the next fork arrives, by the next fork you may end up with 18 coins + theyr mirrors. Simple maths and you could earn more than 80K.

I would suggest hold 50% of the coins and rest of them either you can sell to fiat or convert them to ETH or any other altcoins which are in their early stages. Even that would give u good benefits in terms of money and no of coins will also crease gradually. So its all upto you but still i would suggest sell the bitcoins not completely but partially and rest of them you have to take a call with the options given above.

Now if I will be at your place then surely I will use this money in two fields separately , half of the bitcoin I will sell for the fiat and will have bank money and will use that amount for the practical life business like having big shop or big services like having a petrol pump . And half of to will use for the online services in the cryptocurrency or will use for the trading and investment again with this amount because if you can turn 0.01 btc +1000$ into 12 btc then why not you can change again that amount of bitcoin into another big amount . Here will say best of luck for with you 12 btc , and I hope you will use it for the perfect work and progress .
