Bitcoin is a safe investment. But buying some Altcoins too is a good idea. I suggest buying a bit of both coins. Both Altcoins go up and down, so if you have both you have a win win situation if you invest carefully.

I don't have enough money to invest in bitcoin just in altcoins since I can have capital from the campaign I joined to make an investment in it. It should be better to have both investment at a time because both are having pumps and dumps to take risk. To have a secure investment, taking the two will give opportunity to not lose any amount when investing.

I would recommend not to buy one time a la lump sum.  Ten percent of each paycheck is a common goal for investors.  Is this possible for  you?  If so great.  If not then any percent is better than none.  Diversification is also common strategy when investing.  All coins are tied to Bitcoin so you could make an argument that diversifying in cryptocurrency is unnecessary.  Also since cryptocurrency is considered a volatile and risky investment by some maybe invest in a few securities outside of the crypto market.

I agree, bitcoin is less risky compared to altcoins, the price is going up and down so you need to timing the best time to buy. But if you can afford to buy at the current price go for it especially at this time wherein the value decrease a bit.

The good example of altcoin that has a better technology and platform are Monero and   Neo if you really interested to invest your money in cryptocurrency I suggest to divide it into two 50% for bitcoin and the other 50% for altcoin that have a good potential to growth and run for long turn this is a good strategy to lessen the risk dont put in one bags.

Bitcoin is on the surge and buying for this it really in the high cost. It is better if you just invest for some potential alts as it have a low cost at this time. And I'm pretty sure that, altcoins will moving forward in the early next year.All we have to do is to keep holding our coins and wait for the right time to sell.

It you look at the current state of bitcoin, it doesn't make sense to invest on it right now. Price is high, slow confirmation, tx fees are steep as well. Wild price swings specially Wall Street joining the party. For me, I would rather invest on altcoins such as ETH, LTC - currently doing good. But you have to think long term investment here. No shorting, you will just lost a lot of you that kind of trading because it high risk. You can only invest in bitcoin if it fallback to $10K, however, I don't know if it will because there are really investors flocking the market and buying at this high price.

Why you dont have enough money to buy bitcoin? you can buy with any amount, no minimum required to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin still grow up and you still can get profit from it.

Yes i agree and this strategy is suitable for newbies investors especially with small amount of the money to be invested in digital coins, if we invest the money in alternative coins or on the ICOs program, the chance to getting big profit is high with a little of money because we invest in early although the risk losing money is high too, but it is just about how we manage the risk in investing, it is about the habbit before we put the money in every instrument of investment.

if i had money, surely i will invest in bitcoin because it will bring me more profit than any other altcoins, but not everyone can afford it because it is too high now, so the second choice is investing in altcoins instead but the profit may not be better than bitcoin.

Here I would like to explain you simple basic whether to buy bitcoin or altcoins and then see what is the condition in which you are .If the market of the bitcoin is getting rising then you should hold your bitcoin and if your heart is saying that you want to make big profit then wait for the big dump in the altcoins market and then buy those coins whose price get dummped much than what we can expect .
And if the price of the bitcoin is getting down then sudden buy altcoins Because after getting dump in the bitcoin market will result into increase in the price of altcoins in term.of Satoshi .
And if you get confused during such type of trading then you should stop your trading by selling your coins for USD and then after understand the market with proper analysis , see what you need to do to recover loss .

It's good to buy a bit of both. Choose a few good altcoins for long term multipliers and also Bitcoin as a hedge against the rest and fiat. Now BTC is cheap because it has dipped like nearly 40% from the last bull run so it's a good time to buy some I guess. Well basically the strategy investment into digital coins between the users is different, there are no most the best strategy but the most important is about the active income from digital coins in short term investment or long term investment, because the style of investment into digital coins depending on the investors/traders them selves, some people like short term and the other people like long term investment, they are all good as long as giving active profit.
