Popped an order in myself.

Much less stressed about risking a deposit than a full payment.

Ok XCrowd do you stuff.

My take on the email is that the details are posted to your address.
Does anyone else read it that way?

Just the smallest unit as I am more of a hobby miner than anything.
Hoping to do a review of it for the Amateur radio society in Cardiff.  With the advent of the Raspberry pi the guys are into all sorts not just radios.

Shipping costs will be added to your bill later. So at the time of the order, people have no idea of the extra shipping costs.

Now look at the size and weight of the Olympus:

Unit Dimensions:  W65"xH60"xD25"

Weight: 50KG - 80KG

This thing is enormous. I suggest you demand a quote of the shipping costs before you order or you are in for a big surprise.
Keep in mind they ship from China.

They ship from China directly to their customers or they ship it to themselves and then ship it again to their customers?
It makes a big difference in terms of customs clearance and paying VAT, import duty and other fees.

Import duties / VAT / etc will have to be paid by the customer i suppose

and a 175cm * 175cm * 75cm box will not pass customs unnoticed :-)

Hope not, this is one of the main reasons I was interested in a UK company.  A 4000$ US miner was around 4800$ after import duty and VAT to the UK

OMG!!! Are those dimensions a freaking joke?Huh?
80 Kgs?? That has to be the most f'ing ridiculous miner ever!

Bitfury packs 400 Gh/s in a tiny fraction of that ubermonster. Your kid could even lift 5 of those kits with one hand and yes, those are blade-design too.
There's no colo service on earth that would take that ridiculous Olympus nuclear reactor and still profitably mine with the associated colo expenses.
How many units of rack space is that? like 37???!!!

In other words, it's impossible to make money with this crap if you can't even mine with it at home. On the other hand, if you want hosted services they ask for a nonsense terabillion as a minimum.
I'm NOT interested in their low-end products so please don't even offer me that option.
I mean I could also get 5 Monarch PCI cards from BFL and that's 3TH! that I can pick up with one hand.

Is there another way to make this work? I was about to spend money on 1 or 2 of these but this product is begging not to be purchased :-/
Worst turn off ever! I really hope I'm missing something or that I'm having a nightmare and those are just mock specs when I wake up!!

Yup. Uber ridiculous. It's not like the product design for a fridge  that at least will sit in my house for full 5-10 years . This crap goes to the dumper in 1 year after mining so what company cares about spending so much $$ on temporary 'blade center' technology crap. They should also include a heavy duty, complimentary dolly with it.

Even if you were able to sneak it, it's stupidly designed to leave a crater in your garage, lol!! I mean BFL is into the doorstep business so XC decided to enter into the cool yet hulking mini-bar business? Something's messed up.

The Pavonis is 2.5 kg which is absolutely fine in my book. Of course people complaining about the high end stuff being high end is a little silly, if you can't afford to store a 80kg box somewhere you can't afford the power requirements (1.700W - 3.200W or 2.600W - 5.000W) of it either. So it is very likely it is not a viable option for you anyway. Wink

Just ordered however seems to be mess up in prices on site prices say $165 for 60GH then shows 499 etc

$329.00 for 150,000 however price states $670 so 2 totally different prices ranging from one at $329 as shown then in payment its $670 looks like needs work on it.

Almost 9pm here so we are calling it a day. Please continue to send your questions as we will be compiling the most relevant queries into a FAQ.

Why in your NEW website is displayed a one year old image about a GPU mining ?
