How many of these users who are claiming refunds are alts of TF?

None I guess. Lots of people have gotten a refund, but only 50% of their original balance.
Some people got more than 50%

and this is why you get dedicated servers that only YOU have access to....
in another note isnt this the 2nd time this has happend with TF??

If I put up my own web wallet (Dabs Wallet for example), had similar features, and ran on dedicated servers ... Would you pay for that service? (It needs a revenue or business model.)

i doubt many, i bet he is just paying a few of the loud ones right now so it looks like he is solving the problem.

the biggest mess will be the coin lenders people who wont get anything back.

TF is going to end up with way more than 4,000 BTC when this is over.

Good that someone remembers the CoinLenders thing where nobody(?) has been paid back. And a lot bigger sums of money were "invested" in there............

Some of us keep thinking that coinlenders has some assets to pay us.

But is good to know that there are people like Dumbfruit, whose thread is at less trying to clarify the situation, investigating and promoting the donations from anybody who could help!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=328053.0

Donation Address

1BQTBenNRyat8STCqgV13vT2rfV1DtSEXn

The donated coins will be distributed evenly among all verified Inputs.IO and CoinLenders users, there will not be a sliding scale, and wont exceed balance owed minus what they recieved from TradeFortress, obviously.
In the unlikely event that I receive more BTC than was lost, they will be sent back to the donating address.

Quite a turn of events for this.  Luckily I've never been one to trust web wallets.

Got a refund of about 85% of 1.1 btc. first transaction didn't have fees and took forever to confirm before it disapearred. Sent a mail asking to redo trnasaction, got taken care of with fees, within a couple of hours. Glad this is over for me. Hope for the best for the rest of you.
Do contact him, he's answering in a reasonable time frame for someone in this situation.

I don't know if TF scammed all of us.  But I had my miner stuck pointing to inputs.io and TF helped me enable the API so I can send a sgined message to my miner to send payout to my new address.

He is at least a nice guy and trying to take responsibility (if he wasn't the scammer).  It's a tough situation either way. He's lost the trust of the community forever.

2. Inputs.io had no business model. Why would TradeFortress spend tens of bitcoins for advertising, making affiliate programs (forum signature spam) and deals with bitcoin (gambling) sites operators..
It had one: fees. Charging 0.005 when it often would spend less.
It had a second one: attemting to corner the market before Bitcoin goes mainstream. Any service that is the #1 Bitcoin-related service in its field will be worth a fortune when Bitcoin is widely accepted.
Pretty much. How much does Snapchat earn, and what's their valuation? Smiley

Hi TF,

I had mining issues and it had to be delivered to my inputs.io account.  Would you mind refunding it?  I sent an email to inputs.io.

Thank you!

OVER RULED.

(Trendon Shavers already tried that).

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/08/federal-judge-bitcoin-a-currency-can-be-regulated-under-american-law/

In the case of a Texas man accused of massive Bitcoin-based fraud, a federal judge has ruled that bitcoins are “a currency or form of money," and are therefore subject to relevant US laws.

Let's hope the Aussie's agree.

So far evidence was not given that tradefortress was hacked. All we have are conspiracy theories of the community and excuses or tradefortress.

he gave a better service than coinjar.io he could have easily been number one. But he decided to be a scammer.

That is the way kids handle stuff. Much easier to scam than to build a good and honest service.
