There is no fundamental news out there to justify the price drop. It is a normal correction that used to happen from time to time that hedge funds and many investors use to buy at these low levels that lead to stabilize the price again. you are going to see several drops of 20 - 30% from time to time. If you can not handle the heat, you should not stay in the kitchen.

well said, it's a normal thing that price may rise and fall from time to time. it's surely an investment feature, and potential investors must be mindful of it occurrence.

I saw this morning a lot of sell-off on bitstamp, with sell orders BTC 150+
Seems some big fishes and institutional money took some profits.
It's natural behaviour on every liquid market, profit taking after some huge gains.
I see situation stabilization at Bitstamp at around 9700 and BTC is back in bullish mode.

I haven't seen you asking this question when price literary jumped to 11000$, so why is this surprising you so much?
People buy and people sell. Price go up and price go down. What else?

How is the current price of $9000 a dump? We were only at around $6000 a month ago from now. We just recently peaked at about $11,500 just days ago. A price correction was very expected. Do you really expect a certain cryptocurrency, stock, or asset in general to go up forever?

Sell now and buy 2, 3, 4, 5 times as many coins when its cheaper

The question is, will it go cheaper than it's current price? Nothing is guaranteed.

That is the problem with people when the price goes down for more than a thousand they will panic and say that there is a dump happening, they don't realize how fast the bitcoin reach that amount. Trading stocks are gaining an average of 12%-30% per YEAR and bitcoin gained more than 900% in less than a year so how can we say that the price is already dumping where in fact it never went back to it's price a year ago.

Most people are seeing bitcoin just as an investment and whenever the price is going down instead of hodling the coins and wait until the price recovers they would rather sell it to cut their losses, because of this practice bitcoin's price is getting too unstable. Just trust Bitcoin and see what will happen.

Call it whatever name you can find and those who are already in Bitcoin for a long time would just be smiling. I am intrigued why there are still those who have not researched the ups and downs history of Bitcoin...there were times when Bitcoin made big crashes and yet it eventually recovered and grew. This is just a normal occurrence for Bitcoin...and corrections are also serving like a buffer zone so it can avoid popping. In other words, we should expect some dips much more after a very good bull run. If people can get tired and need to do some retreats, then so does Bitcoin. Let's give our beloved coin some time to gather much-needed energy and stamina for another big bull run going into the $15,000 mark if not this year then in 2018. Soon there would be some good news that can help prop the coin back into the action. Just relax, sip coffee and don't worry about the dip.

LOL. This drama has been played for hundreds times ) Don't worry about it, there is always a dump after a big pump but the price of Bitcoin always rise back so you just need to hold your Bitcoin or buy some more if you want then wait until the price rise back to over 11k$ )

The cause is people taking profit and realizing how quickly bitcoin had shot up in a matter of weeks. Did you really expect it to go to 15k before it went under 10k? Common sense folks tells us markets must go down before going back up.

Bitcoin price dropped indeed, but it is not a massive dump! Bitcoin is already up @9600...
It was to expected after reaching the 10000 and 11000$ mark that a drop would happen.

i think no one know the real reason for the falling value of bitcoin , But I think that with a lot of conversions, the currency of bitcoin is falling sometimes

Any cryptocurrency's fate after such a huge increase in volume and remarkable growth over a very short period of time , is a little decrease or as what the technical term is " a dump " . Pumping, dumping and stability are parameters that are relative and are mainly controlled by huge investor that hold massive amounts of bitcoin and got the power to manipulate it's value .
Such thing can't be done by a single investor no matter how much funds he's holding , it needs to be a whole group of investors to get this task done , and whenever they decide to pump a certain coin , they manage to make that coin break records and get it's name known to all the community in such way that every body will start investing in it , once they want to dump it after reaching a certain goal, they start selling their shares making it more available on the market and thus decreasing it's value .

It is a normal thing for the price to decrease when there is a sudden hike for every rise there is a fall.Here in the case of btc aswell.People normally tend to sell of their coins when they find it more profitable and so it is normal for the price to go down when all try to sell off their coins in the same time.It is normal tendency for all the investors to withdraw from it when they find it profitable as they fear that the price might go down.

It seems to be sitting where it was sitting a few days ago while trying to break $10,000. So, this looks normal to me. Couple that with the usual correction that happens and it actually looks really good.

Keep in mind that it was under attack by BCH not too long ago and recovered just fine and smashed through ATHs after that. That was a well orchestrated attack. This is profit taking and correction. There's been many times that a blood bath like this happens across crypto. It can be startling to watch unless you're looking at it as a buying opportunity.

It seems to do that after the dips-comes roaring back.

Believe me brother that is just normal drop in the price and its not at all dumping. The dumping would be called as bitcoin hoping all the way down to 7-8K and that will change the market. drastically. But I don't think that bitcoin is going down that much and its not because the market capitalism that has been corrected recently will not allow it to go down that much. The more the market cap the more is the secure coin at that specific point, always remember this. So of bitcoin the market is over 250Bn and do you really think that it will cause it any problem holding the price of 9k or 10k? I don't thin so.

Plus the bitcoin futures is coming in hot soon which is another good news and when the world know about it then they will start investing money again and thus will push the bitcoin economy again towards the higher course.

Perhaps it will takes a dumps for a moment. Then surpass again and a make new correction like what happened before this is normal i think. I suggest  to relax guys dont eagerly sell maybe it will gain some strength to jump again and make a new record. Just hold back and drink some wine. Lol Because this scenario always occur so much better to wait instead of making some doubts and sell your coins right away.

Well, in that cash of dumps for a moment it was just a normal scenario like what we've encountered from the past months or the price started to rise until $9000 to $1000. But right now it showed that the price also started to decrease its current value but more investors still waited for sudden drop in order to invest their current fiat cash, more will be buying an asset and hold because seemingly there's more than $10000 to go. Hopefully the speculations of until $20000 might be a reality for us.

It is normal for correction to happen once a new high is made by any coins. It happens all always. There is also a profit taking by people that are in profit already. This is liquidity, it is the essence of trading.

Dont believe about the correction thing. That is just one escape from their misery.
There is no such thing as correction.
Either people are buying or people are selling. That is called demands and that is all that matters with bitcoin.
Corrections are for those people who are imagining things

If you believe in bitcoin dont doubt it. This people who have been holding just wants to take the profit and they are doing it now.
Next time there will be another price increase because of this drop of price they will buy now.
