Not Bitcoin because too slow and expensive for the fastest fast food... perhaps Litecoin or such!

We'll see but the transaction fees need to decrease in order for that to happen.

If this happens, we'll see amore and more giant merchants going to accept bitcoin as well, since McDonald's is already established, it only means that they accept bitcoin as currency, and not only it will boost the price of bitcoin it will alsk give more profit to McDonald's, considering the fact that bitcoin' value is going up, still they need to further study on how they can do it more effectively than amazon before,  hopefully this move will be a success.

Expensive? Yes. Slow? Doesn't matter. Merchants accept Bitcoin through third party payment processors, and for amounts below $50 they (assuming you add an appropriate network fee) will not require you to wait for confirmations. In easy terms, the only bother are the fees people have to pay, which in this case would make it not worth to use it for small purchases. If you look at the average amount people spend in McDonalds, it's around $10. If you include appropriate network fees, you'll pay like $10 for the food, and $5 in transaction fees. At least, there is not much to worry about since McDonalds isn't accepting Bitcoin. Smiley

That would indeed be awesome. People nowadays need to associate with symbols. When arguing about Bitcoin, saying it is accepted by major companies like McDonald's would indeed help my pledge.

This would only have a positive impact of Bitcoin and it's acceptance and it makes sense as Bitcoin is now worth more than mc donalds itself in net worth. I'm not sure if I will be spending my bitcoin on mc donalds due to the transaction fees that come with small transactions but its a positive movement.

That is good news but I doubt they are true. Amazon will surely accept Bitcoin but Macdonald's won't for a long time. Macdonald has huge profit marge on a daily business and thousands of the people pay for the meals and great hamburgers every day, every second. Fee for sending a transaction would make Bitcoin look bad and also Macdonalds cause it isn't predicted to do daily transactions every second on low price meals.

That is good. maybe i can order some food with 0.000xx btc i have.
it would be great if it happened, because I am sure, many companies will follow this if it really develops. moreover this is free advertising.

McDonalds is one of the famous fast-food chain in the whole world. Infact, having different branches internationally that makes them more popular with there tremendous and delicious menus throughout the whole world. It's a big Wow, If it may happened since many people want a trasaction through bitcoin that makes them easier and comfortable and for sure many business establishments that will follow. Well, as I observed here in my country I didn't yet see any department stores or fast-food accepted bitcoin but nobody knows everything is still in process and I believed someday there will some stores that will accepting bitcoin as there way of paying transaction.

Well, we may wait till more companies acepted new methods pay but using BTC for that with the fees that you have to make doesnt have logic.

Does that even make sense with the current transaction times and fees? You are going to pay more for the fees than for your meal. Unless the fees go down drastically, it makes no sense to use bitcoin as a daily payment method.

I don’t get it either. If a business wants to accept Bitcoins as payment, it would only make sense it they had more expensive products. There aren’t many people that are going to use Bitcoins for fast food.

McDonald’s would be better off accepting an altcoin that had lower fees or IOTA which has no fees. However, it is good publicity for Bitcoin.

I don't think it does a normal meal costs at most $10 you would be paying half of that in fees which would mean it's much cheaper and wiser to pay in fiat currency rather than Bitcoin. Bitcoin isn't a micro transaction currency and never will be.

I dont think that is going to happen very soon because bitcoin has a lot of issues that make him impossible to be accepted as a payment method in such business.

Think if you want to buy a burger that costs 3$. You would pay the full price + the fee from McDonald's (5-10%)+ the fee for transaction(2-3$). At the end you would have to pay at least 5$ for a product that costs 3$ normally.

Another problem is that blockhain or others big wallets didn't have their own card wich allows you to pay directly from your wallet to a merchant through contactless, because this is the actual technology.

It doesn't! They should've created the MC coin or something of their own. Using Bitcoin is a bit oldish. I am ok with buying Bitcoin to store value, but for milions of transactions MC has daily, Bitcoin isn't, just isn't the option.

I'm not sure if that's gonna be true for the moment. Transactions fees would be very high. It would even cost you the whole order. Maybe they are gonna implement bitcoin for huge orders. But still the price would be high enough.

Very good news in my opinion if  this comes to fruition unlike the amazon rumors a few months ago. I think this will encourage people to learn more about Bitcoin and actually use their Bitcoin instead of hoarding it and not using it as a currency.
