Agreed, but most newbies don't realize in order to be safe they need to transfer their BTC OUT into a new wallet.

Okay, super, thank you. I must have misunderstood something I read, I just stumbled on this today.
Would much rather not jump into yet another exchange until I know more what I'm doing.
There are several posts on this board about bitlish. Someone had some tech trouble withdrawing for a couple hours, I didn't look at the link, just found it on search.
anyway, appreciate it, thanks, that makes life a lot simpler right now.

I asked the same question earlier tonight, read the last couple pages to see the replies.
Short tell: the consensus is no, you don't. But to move the BCA after the hard fork, you'll need an Atom exchange and wallet. but I'm a newb so don't trust me, read the last couple pages for what the experienced folks say.

I bought Bitcoin tonight, transferred all of it to my Exodus wallet and the next step would be to export both public and private keys to a BCA wallet, which is risky, the whole thing might either fail and you'd lose your BTC or someone could do bad stuff and steal it.
People here recommend sitting tight and letting it settle out for a bit. I'm going to do that.

When listing on Bittrex/coinbase or poloniex?
you should use Yobit or Coinomi to make sure you get it

The Coinomi wallet does not appear to have BCA support yet. Will this be done soon as the fork is about to happen. This means that people who want to get in on the dump early will need to move their BTC to Yobit to get the forked coins straight away and there is no way in hell that I am trusting Yobit with my stash. I can live with dumping the forked coins there temporarily while I sell and then take my BTC as soon as possible but I need a working wallet for that.

No, you don't have to do anything. All you need is private keys for your BTC address(es). After the fork you can decide what to do. I asked the same question earlier tonight, read the last couple pages to see the replies.

You SHOULD move your BTC BEFORE doing anything with your BCA.
