Coinbase does not support Bitcoin Atom.  How do I do this?  And, since the coins are in their wallet, they have the only access to the keys.
Remember that Bitcoin is still beta software. Don't put all of your money into BTC!

Yeah I read your post as coinomi for some reason. You would need to move your coins to a supported wallet before the fork. Or wait till after the fork and then get your private key and import that to a wallet that supports atom.

No idea how you get the private key from coinbase but I'm sure someone else will be able to help with that part. The good news is that there is no rush for it, you will be able to do it recursively. As long as you own bitcoin at the fork and you can get the private keys for the wallet they are in then you can do this any time after the fork.

Right, but Coinbase is the only one that has the keys at the fork.  How do I get it from them?

It's very unlikely or basically impossible they would do so. You will need to transfer your btc in order to claim bca

If I have my BTC in Coinomi wallet only, then will I automatically get same amount of BCA after the fork?
As of now, I don't see Coinomi supporting this coin.

This BTC for is at one block's difference now. I also am watching this closely to see in how much after comes into existence it will be able to see some announcements. It is important to see the very first hours support else it will go without catching any attention. Let's wait together where it is going.

It is good for those who have lot of bitcoins in their holdings. This is free money like incentive or airdrop and we have nothing to get from it. It is a normal coins launch type thing for me since I will have to buy it from exchange if I feel need so. Anyways it will bring some money to majority of people here.
