hmmm... doesn't seem to have gone that smoothly. I thought that Coinomi would have had it added since I moved some of my test BTC there to see how well it would work. Is there any proof of work that this coin can actually do the atomic swaps yet? It seems like everyone is waiting to see what is going to happen.

Coinomi are waiting for code release as they tweeted. Once that is done, they will implement it. AS should be released in March based on what I saw on atom website so then the party can begin Smiley
in march, but do you know when exactly?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

There will be many fake wallets. I would also not trust the official wallet.

If you don't have it already get a hardware wallet for your Bitcoin. They usually offer splitting tools. But still no tools for the shady Bitcoin Diamond fork, maybe this fork will end dead on arrival.

Trust is relative. I won't trust the binaries for sure Cheesy

But as long as the source is posted, and I can compile it, I'm ok. My keys are safely emptied.
i believe in this project and there isn't anything that make me doubt, but everybody could have their own opinion

i presume it will rise even more
well, directly speaking it could read as " will not drop any lower" - BUT this is a rare case when I decided not to get rid of free coins immediately  and to keep them in hopes for better future )

Usually, when there are hordforki, coins are distributed free of charge to those who have bitcoins. Here I did not see about this information with which exchanges, with what purses there is an arrangement.

Without code this should be considered as scam. It needs a single guy to create a fake coin.
People will sonn stop to care or already did.

Not posting the code means there is none or it is in no good state. The code should always be there from the moment Bitcoin is forked everything else is shady.

You can't run a node so there is no coin only useless virtual version on exchanges which can't be moved. People loosing Bitcoin left and right through fake wallets and scams.

Bitcoin Atom creates a way to exchange digital assets with the exchange of chain atoms on board. By using the built-in hash time-locked contract (HTLCs) and its own HTLC API, and for that Bitcoin Atom provides freedom from intermediaries and centralized entities ie trading capabilities with an atomic cross chain ...

Any update when yobit will allow deposit still no update about this issue. When big exchanges will start trading for this coin or this will continue without any support?

If anyone can create a bitcoin fork then why do they still end up being valuable? It seems like most of these forks should have a value close to nothing, yet most end up being worth a lot of money. Can someone please explain to me why this happens? It seems totally illogical. Thanks.

Forks have a word bitcoin in their names.Smiley It's just a hype. The other hype word is blockchain. And I'm surprised that there is not Bitcoin Blockchain (or Blockchain Bitcoin) fork, or is there? If there is not and someone decided to make such fork I take 1% of premine of such fork. Just contact me via PM.Smiley

Ned Kelly nailed it, though in this case (and BCH), there is something that makes it attractive after the change. In the case of BCH, the bigger block size, and in the case of BCA, the atomic trading and planned compatibility with Lightning network make it interesting.

That being said, we're a few days past the fork with no block explorer, no source code, no official wallet, and no word. I'm not liking the way this smells. Granted, all it "cost" me was holding BTC for a couple of days, which I was doing anyway, but still, the futures market and all that noise, with no concrete followup, doesn't set well with me.

Hey Biomech, thank you for your interest in Bitcoin Atom. You're right that source wasn't published yet, however it will be done shortly, team is already deploying testnet for mining pools so the mining can start. But I can't agree that there was no follow up, we remain as much active after the fork as we were before, speaking with our community members, updating our social media and building the product and new partnerships. There are some very exciting milestones ahead of us. Smiley
