If I recieved 100BTC in my account by some other account bymistakely, I would surely return them back .I know 100BTC is a very large amount 1M at current price but we should also know the fact it's someone's hard earned money.

We have all read stories of coins being sent to wrong addresses (typos or badly copy and pastes)

What would you do if 100 Btc landed into your account? (unfortunately this has not happened to me yet)

Oh man that is a toughie. Its kinda like finding a suitcase stuffed with cash. My conscience however would urge me to return it, reluctantly I will admit but I would send it back.

I may however keep a small percentage for being so honest lol.

Technically, one should return it to the sender but but but he should avoid anything like this,

"User mistakenly takes control of hundreds of wallets containing cryptocurrency Ether, destroying them in a panic while trying to give them back"

* $300m in Cryptocurrency Accidentally Lost Forever Due to Bug - SoylentNews.

* '$300m in cryptocurrency' accidentally lost forever due to bug.

You never know if the sender has any control/access on the private keys of sender's address or not because in the case of withdrawal from the exchange, sender don't even know the public address until he gets tx hash. Thus, I would return such accidental funds but only after detailed scrutiny.

Withdraw them all to erase the traces then live a good life with a good house and open a business.
Let us not be hypocrites here. With this value of bitcoin no one will send it back even if they can.
And of course no one will know who is the owner of the other address so he will run.

I would properly returned the bitcoin because it is not solemy my hardwork or investments. Also, if it was not mine to begin with I wouldn't have interest in it because as a person I was not raised to have interest on someone else possession.

I think i would first research a ton about it if such was possible or if I ak the only one. I would also propably try to look on where the bitcoin came from if it was wrongly sent then I might return it jowever it it was automated and it was still wrongly sent i honestly would use it

i think impossible to get 100btc in my account from another wallet. if you've 100btc you can save in many wallet, not using one account wallet.
many people can be carefull to send btc.

this just proves that you never studied bitcoin basics so you do not understand the very basic things about bitcoin.

a bitcoin address can not be wrong if you mistype a letter or two (typos)! all bitcoin addresses follow a simple formatting technique called Base58 encoding. that prevents these types of errors because to put simply if you change 1 letter in a bitcoin address, that address becomes invalid and it will be rejected.

the only way that you can send to a wrong address is if you put in the wrong address, either by copying it from a wrong source or having a malware on your computer than manipulates your clipboard.

so your answer is obvious. if i receive 100 bitcoin, that must have been my payment.

Unfortunately this may not happen - Since bitcoins addresses are just one and nothing like other bitcoins adds. This is unique and one mistake of a letter will not be accepted by payment processors. So even one letter is accidentally erased or is added this is not accepted and will return you by payment prosesors. So it's impossible to happen. Many times I have accidentally done it. but the only one that sent me was Bitcoins Address not found.

I think this kind of mistake may happen only with small sums. Of course you need to check when you want to send big sum, and in my opinion if someone have this sum you're not so dumb to do it random and with so silly mistakes.

I will wait until there is a report or explanation of the delivery error, if it is not there I may use the BTC to provide assistance to the poor people out there, and I may also use it for my personal and family needs, its use in accordance with the guidelines which God has for me.

this is a great value, and i say this is an accident. but I do not like to eat anything that is not my right, and if it happens to me, I will return it back to the owner.
for me to do good and benefit to the members of bitcointalk forums, will be my priority. and I am happy to do good things.

It is not impossible to happened. But the question is,
How much is the chance that will be occurred ?
BTC single transaction with amount over 100BTC maybe only a few.
But if that happened to me, i think i will just wait the owner to contact me.

Well that's really a huge amount to loose since it is worth $1.2 billion . I would definitely try to find its owner and contact him and know who he got to send me such a huge amount. I am not so kind enough to give him back the whole amount for his mistake. So I will probably keep some amount for myself and then return the rest to him. If he has made a genuine mistake and need the amount desperately may be then I would give him his amount back. We can also use this amount for a while to make us some good profit and then return his amount to himself which will give both of us a profit.

I hope that I would be one of the lucky receiver of that 100BTC. I'm pretty sure that who have send it will hunt the receiver until he can. I don't want to be the bad guy here and waking up one day that there are goons in my front yard and asking me to return the bitcoins. Thus, I will give it back to the sender, minus the transaction fee and other fee that occurs.

To begin with, I would be very surprised by such happiness.
I would have left about half of the Bitcoins for the future. I would buy myself an excellent place to live, cars and everything in this spirit. Most of the Bitcoins would have invested in big business.
It is a pity that these are just assumptions.

The situation you put out I think very rare.
But if it happened to me in fact. I will return it in any way, though its value is very high.
For the only reason is morality.
