Hello, hopefully someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
I'm trying to solomine Galaxycoin, but when I do the difficulty drops and I end up getting block after block after block. Thought this was a good thing at first, but the trouble is all the blocks are orphans and they don't show up in the Galaxycoin block explorer. By the way, the very first block I mined was in the block explorer, but afterwards all come in orphaned. I tried deleting everything except my wallet, restarted, and waited for a full resynch. That got rid of the 50 or so orphan blocks, but when I restarted mining the same thing happened and I was getting a couple blocks per minute--all orphans. I tried deleting,fully resynching, and restarting mining a couple more times...same results each time.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong that my miner won't stay on the chain and instead goes off on its own?
Thanks
I don't think you're doing anything wrong. The way this coin is designed, the difficulty jumps up and down like crazy. And with a steady growing number of miners, right when the difficulty randomly reaches a ridiculously low number, it means that many people get the chance to solve a very easy mathematical task simultaneously. This leads to orphans. It's in the very design. "It's not a bug, it's a feature." I do see a lot of orphans too, but at least 50% are not orphans. The way this coin works is different than others, we can mine it without a mining pool even at high diff, but unfortunately the orphan is the problem, just need to live with it... the good thing is I do get a fair amount of blocks over the time.

Try a new wallet.dat? I had a problem qt-wallet wouldn't keep up with blockchain. Not happened since.

Seems to be a problem with the http://glx.coinmine.pl/ pool. Not had a payout for hours. Anyone know how to contact the operator?

Seems to be a problem with the http://glx.coinmine.pl/ pool. Not had a payout for hours. Anyone know how to contact the operator? Same problem over here! The pool accepts shares, but you don't get credited and thus no automatic payouts. Has been behaving bad for at least 6 hours now. I sincerely hope everything can be restored soon.

BTC would be better, but LTC is fine too... key is to have a place to trade.

what's the problem you see? I have no sync problem. that is a good question I am asking the same... Yes this needs to be added somewhere! I agree. There are some great and heavily mined coins still not on the exchanges, this being one of them.

I don't mind if the great coins will be in an exchange 3 days earlier or 3 days later, key is to accumulate the great coins

add these line in your config files (named galaxycoin.conf in the config dir), and restart qt client:
addnode=85.24.209.199 addnode=70.98.114.229 addnode=77.41.56.129 addnode=99.6.253.61 addnode=128.69.22.145 addnode=46.4.74.197
you should be in sync
