Hi. I did all this, but my balance did not show up.

Please type refresh and rescan_bc commands in wallet to sync you balances.
Also you can use show_transfers command to see all transactions.

Where is the chain data on a win10 pc? should it be under %appdata%? if so, it's not there...no dero folder there.

Welcome, At present DERO blockchain is based on cryptonote protocol,monero. We are rewriting new blockchain which will have cryptonote features + smart contracts.
No its not possible to mine DERO on mobile right now.

Its complete protocol rewrite in golang so smart contracts would be incorporated with cryptonote protocol.
All smart contracts can be hidden except for the parties involved/invited with viewkey like in cryptonote protocol.
As its rewrite there are other several features planned.
Within a day/two we would be on some exchange also.

Pls check in your-user folder,current folder or in  %appdata%. there would be a folder named dero.
