This is too bad , how can you hold that huge amount of money in a less protected wallet, what about cold wallet and other security features they could employ

Lost 260$ unpaid from 2 rigs.

100% scam.

I wonder how many people it takes to finance an amazing retirement with minimal donation amounts.

How many users did nicehash have? I personally donated some to this "hackers" private island fund too. GG.

Always doubt.

Did an official explanation come from Nicehash? Or is there still no explanation? I guess our money flew again. This is very depressing. I hate to wait.

Look at their last tweet, they say they are working to restore the service and they created a subreddit crying for someone to help them get the money back...

There's a link to their live stream explanation on page 2 I believe. It's worth a look. Just a couple of young punks in waaaay over their heads. I'm sure they are in major violation of various regulations. If they don't make this good, I suspect they'll be sharing a prison cell.

I lost $3000.  Every satoshi I ever mined.  I don't believe there is one in a million chance of nicehack reimbursing us a dime and I strongly suspect there was no hack.  They just took the money because they could and conveniently claimed it was a hack.  Who can prove otherwise?

Does anyone seriously expect to get any of the stolen funds back?

What does surprise me is the number of people who seem inclined to trust nicehack again when and if they restart their service.

I am sorry.

Attribution for alleged hacks is often impossible but I doubt NiceHash founders would have appeared in the livestream if they were behind it: https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/7/16748472/nicehash-cryptocurrency-mining-bitcoin-ethereum-hacking-security-breach

At the same time, it is possible the "hack" was due to insider at NiceHash or something like that. $70M in cryptos were stolen so lets say when you are an admin at NiceHash and someone approaches you with a chance to get 10% of that, would you take it?

so at first i'm soory for you guys who lost your coins with nicehash,
but i hope this fucking "company" will never see the daylight anymore...

Nicehash is a mining centralization plague, it's bad that someone can loose earnings, but if Nicehash disappears it would be a good luck Smiley
Maybe some of its users will start mining on regular pools and trading instead of searching for another alternative for noob miners Cheesy

exactly this

hahaha i hope they really got hacked, fucking nicehash

yes, fuck them, they ruining whole markets

So that's why the difficulty is down on everything.

Why don't nicehash miners just mine like everyone else  Huh

easy answer, beacuse they are lazy suckers....

Whats another good alternative like nicehash? So far tried winminer, it keeps locking up my pc's every few hours. Tried minergate, seems like I should be getting paid more than what its claiming. I guess they don't have any other set it and forget it types out there as easy as nicehash?

fuck nicehash, fuck alternatives, fuck lazy asses...

so i hope they will shut down forever, if not then i hope that big gauys can clearly see how this shit was damaging marketes,
and now they see they can get even more without this shit, so if they will try to work that shit again hope they will be
constantly DOSSED till the end of this fucking "company"

DDOS that shit...

Well to find something positive about this is probably that many nicehash miners will learn how to mine for real from real pools.

Even if nicehash was about to pay all their miners I don't think their trust could be restored.

Their reputation is damaged forever. Even if they recover, they will never be what they used to be.

Well, at least it's much easier to mine now. Sorry some of you lost money, but good riddance NiceHash.

Good thing I've never ever used Nicehash, though I tried it before and planning to invest which was halted due to personal reasons. Along with minergate, they established themselves as one of the legit online mining site, but they have the upper hand because of more features compared to the latter. They've already been years in the industry and I do think their team is working hard to improve and develop the site even further, yet this kind of attack happened. While every Nicehash investors were hoping to get refunds from their investments, there's only a slim chance it might happen. This is similar with the case of Mt. Gox, whom at that time was a very popular exchange site. Lesson here, every dollar, coin, dime you have on an online investment, wether its a mining or exchange site, practice to draw out regularly or just store what you can afford to lose.
