IBM has developed a Bluemix platform that is being actively implemented in Vietnam. Tracking of the distribution chain is supported by the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) that allows to gather information pertaining to the place type and date of catch, temperature which the products are held at during the time of delivery, all in real time.

The cost of around 10 cents for such sensor is lost amongst the total annual catch volume of $2 billion. It is suggested that sensors are going to be attached to big expensive types of fish.

Former Mexican president Vicente Fox thinks that the democratization of data used in blockchain will be quite useful for the country, especially for its agriculture. Fox gave the main agricultural product, corn, as an example.
