While this forum Is filled with tons of helpful and great people, there are just as many scammers. Deals can be done safely in the crypto currency world but you have to be careful. Welcome and good luck - and I totally agree with this post above! Before you decide to spend any bitcoin always do a quick check that you will get what you're paying for or that what you're getting is worth having (regarding airdrops and ICO's etc and investing on exchanges).
And make sure you secure your crypto as much as you can and never reveal your private keys of accounts that have bulk crypto in em.
There's a lot to think about so as much fun as it all is - always be wary that at any time someone is trying their best to relieve you of your crypto
