Is It the End of Blockchain?

Since a Bitcoin block is created roughly every 10 minutes, the maximum number of possible transactions is very limited. The transactions are prioritized according to the amount of transaction fee paid but if the block is full, you have to wait for the next block. Depending on the amount of fee paid and the transaction volume, you may have to wait several blocks until your own transaction is included. This problem has now reached such proportions that many Bitcoin users have been demanding faster transaction processing for some time but there is no solution yet.

Cryptocurrencies based on DAG have a radically different approach: no blocks = no restrictions on the number of transactions, as well as no evil miners.

I don't think so. Dag projects like IOTA and Byteball are very promising, and have their own unique system and approach to the scalability issues, but no one really knows how they will work once adoption kicks in, because they don't have that many number of users. Maybe if they got tested with a super computer, to see how the system would really work with a huge number of transactions could help them. But even if they prove to be successful, I don't think they will ever kill blockchain, because blockchain projects, are also working hard in order to sove their issues, and are capable of off-chain solutions, like the lightning network, so maybe both can co-exist.

I think that DAG-based cryptos like IOTA and Byteball don't have such big scalability problems by design. I agree that some mass stress test still has to be done to prove it, but my bet is that they will not have any problem with it. What I like the most is that since there are no miners, there will be no "behind the curtains" dirty politics by big miner groups.
Regarding the blockchain projects to solve the problems - yes, we will have lighting network, but it will probably not be implemented in Bitcoin for at least a year from now. And we have problem now already. So I'm curious to see how the situation will look like in the following months.

It definitely looks like DAG-based currencies are the future - at least for currencies aiming to be value transfers. Blockchain can't compete with them (on scalability, speed, transaction fees, etc), even with DAGs as they are today. Check out this DAG coin comparison (RaiBlocks, IOTA, Byteball) - they are way ahead of the Blockchain in many ways.

That being said, DAG-based coins are nowhere near as proven out as blockchains, so they may go through some growing pains.

I'm a big supporter of these new revolution ways in the crypto world and therefore I think The DAG technology will substitute classical blockchain one time and more cryptos will work on DAG technology or similar. But it is still run for a long way. Future will show us true Smiley I prefer Crypto like IOTA, BYTEBALL, AIDOS KUNEEN.

I haven't heard of Aidos Kuneen yet, what makes it different from Rai/IOTA/Byteball?

Bitcoin will change, or lose its position. Fortunately, there are many coins with fast transactions, choose any.

We will see, but in my opinion I think that DAG-based cryptos are not going to replace Bitcoin, but some of Blockchain based cryptos it already replaced (for example IOTA) and there are more ambitious projects based on DAG.

I belive that DAG will have succes, because it is more suitable for everyday use.

I agree, DAG cryptos are ideal solution for day to day transactions and mainly IOTA, focused on Internet of Things with no fees, no miners and almost unlimited scalability is good example - blockchain based currencies would not be able to handle the ammount of requests needed effectively. We will definitely see some nice growth for this currency.

I believe both blockchain and DAG would coexist, DAG would be focused on handling large ammount of daily transactions and blockchain based Bitcoin will be used more as a store of value - Gold 2.0 with all its advantages vs actual physical gold, real estates or other types of investments.

guys, you can enough times and argue about what coins are projects better than a comma, but I think that everyone has a chance to get promising in the world of crypto currency. First of all, because of the demand of users, an offer on the market is born.

We all agree that DAG is something new and looks damn good. Blockchain is legendary but how we can see in these days there are so many bugs for massive daily use. Next thing we can agree that IOTA is big player and the time will show us what how much big it is....my opinion is this will be BIG.

DAG and blockchain will live together like "proof of stake" and "proof of work". DAG have more power than blockchain but users will decide which will live.

It's obviously got some advantages but it is still quite early. Blockchain is proven technology that is known to work for years without failing, even though for blockchains, it has got fundamental limitations as to scaling efficiently for sure.

DAG based coins such as IOTA have potential, the free transactions that they offer are a great selling point in my opinion.

But they have to make sure that everything is bug free with their software and code, which is something that is not the case at the moment. Disappearing balances for no reason on their GUI and slow transactions are not a good start imo.

I fully support DAG based projects to take over from blockchain projects but for this to happen there needs to be mass adoption of DAG based projects. I do not see this happening soon,  blockchain technology has had it's fair share of success and is still deeply entrenched in the crypto ecosystem.

Iota hasn't use the blockchain. The tangle system can solved the scalability problem. But my big question about, does DAG really decentralized at all. As you can see the network runs by the server to verifying the transaction.
I just need to learn more about this.
