Not currently but this is something I have suggested and hopefully will be implemented in the future like the copper member rank was. Though I don't think you should be able to buy the rank/title of Full Member etc but just the perks/benefits of one.

This is something I look forward to. And if it does, I just hope that the price per status is affordable and not base on BTC. I know its a good idea to work hard and rev up the reputation or trust. However, there are legit people that can be trusted but mistreated due to its status (Jr. Member - Full Member). I saw some members that try their best to start a good reputation on this site, but they never got a chance due to this 'Status' thing.

I think the ranking system shouldn't be touched, let's just keep it like that. However, creating new paid minerals status with the features of each ranks is acceptable. Old members waited long time to get their actual rank, buying ranks upper than full member is just unfair (tho it is ok for buying potential activity to become junior / member?)

I've suggested that it be pegged to fiat to avoid the same situation that happened with the current donator ranks. Not currently but this is something I have suggested and hopefully will be implemented in the future like the copper member rank was. Yeah, they should be separate from the current member ranks. Activity is actually a great system and you should have to earn that naturally over time, but I don't mind people paying for the perks. It's much better than them either just shitposting to rank up or buying an account from a shitposting farmer or hacker.

once it is implemented, I'm pretty sure many new users willing to pay for insta-rank. . . . . (for joining sig campaign) and then all campaign managers will add new rules: "only select paid member rank is accepted at manager discretion" other than for getting accepted in sig campaign or bounty, I don't see the reason why people bother to rank up instantly the limit on waittime posting and max pm is negligible for regular users I agree more on the ability to "buy the perks/benefits"

I really think a great solution that benefits everyone is to just add a few lines onto the signature of Copper members. (or silver/gold/etc if you change names) That way you would be able to either put a sentence below your normal sig or move up in size to a larger sig. It would be awesome and well worth the membership fee.

Even a dedicated person that work hard to rank up his / her account and posting with good quality. There will be a time he / she will become lazy and just spam post. Also, it really hurts when you work hard for an account then some crazy member will prank your account by giving you a negative trust which makes your status worthless. The worst thing is you have to start all over again. This is the kind of solution that I can think of.

I'm still relatively new, but I'd put being able to receive the title / status right up there with an EA level pay to win.
Now, just being able to upgrade the account for the ease of someone that doesn't have as much time as the rest of the world, simple convenience sake of the associated benefits, without the title would seem ok with me. It might slow down some account farming, spam posting for sig campaigns, but I might need a more informed view to decide if it would actually discourage account selling / buying. WOuld it possibly end up adding more value to selling / buying accounts inadvertently?

trust has nothing to do with rank, they are based and used for different things trust is for feedback scoring system while (main) ranks are based on user activities for limits & perks to have high trust doesn't need high rank, and higher rank doesn't insure high trust either for example TradeFortress VIP with Trust: -9999

Truthfully I think that instead of buying ranks, why not have a subscription like system to be able to access the forums? Keep things pretty much the same, when it comes to ranks, and probably tweak the trust system to allowing negative trust, with confirmation from mods/admins, for spamming. I think those changes could help the forum out immensely with combating shit posters and keeping topics and conversations constructive.

From the perspective of a paid Copper Member with current “Newbie” rank: Please do not permit the purchasing of ranks. Ever.
Copper Membership makes sense, both for the user and for the forum. It unlocks important posting functionality for newbies. It makes throwaway account creation cost-prohibitive for spammers and sock armies. It adds a dash of prestige, in addition to one’s canonical rank. It’s an all-around good idea.
New paid levels which add higher additional prestige or practical perqs would likewise make sense. I know that when I see a “Donator”, this is someone who cares about the forum to the degree of an endearing foolhardiness. It’s impressive. Lesser degrees of the same effect could be had with hypothetical Gold and Silver memberships.
But the basic system of activity ranks measures socially useful, productive creativity.[1] Buying higher rank would be as if paying for the “right” to pad one’s résumé. It would be like buying the “right” to brag to new friends about achievements you never made. For the highest ranks, it would directly place at market a status tantamount to “pillar of the community”.
If you be wealthy, then you can move to a small town and buy a certain amount of instant goodwill by, e.g., donating money to build a park. But you cannot buy the status of having lived there twenty years. The difference ought be obvious.
Myself, if I could purchase higher membership ranks, then I would never want to obtain any higher membership rank—by purchase, or otherwise; for it would be worthless.
1. At least, in theory. (“Assume a spherical cow.”) Too bad, it seems that mods now face the task of emptying a landfill with a spoon—whilst the garbage trucks keep rolling in, just as they are paid to.

That is a well thought out analogy, imo. Don't be surprised if I use that somewhere else sometime, lol, it just seemed to sum up my perceptions of it very well .

By my calculation, I should rank up from Newbie to Junior Member when Activity Period #1251 dawns at 19:00:00 UTC today. The patience is worthwhile; I’ll toast the moment, as a rite of passage. Perhaps someday, I could be a Hero—or even Legendary. Cheers!
