If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

I'd say it's possible in the really long term, around the next 7-10 years, but anything could happen during all these years.

A better strategy to reach 1M would be actively monitoring the markets and finding new coins with huge potential and maybe you could try looking into ICOs if you have the time to research them.

When coin became "solid" it had already made 10000%: - \ To get such profit you need to buy at coins on the start of their way ...

and when they get that nice coin they keep it for a long time so when it's sold the price is already very high and the results are amazing

I would say "It is impossible". If you invest 10000$ in a coin, I don't believe that you will not cash out when is 100000$ or 200000$. I don't think you will have this nerves of steel to hold on.

If you were the perfect trader, buying and selling exactly at lows and highs, you would make much more than a million in one year. But I believe that is nearly impossible to be that good.

The interesting thing about investing in ICOs is that you can very quickly become a millionaire because if you choose a potential ICO, the chances of making a profit are high. So you need to research specific to find the potential ICOs, if you find you will have a lot of money from it.

I wouldn't say it is impossible but if you are planning on trading from time then I think it would take a lot of time and effort where as if you have started to invest on ethereum early then you would gain the most benefit from its growth and may have made your million dollars very much possible now.

Looking at how some of the coins fared a year ago, at 10k, some have reached a million dollar already. But with today's so many emerging cryptocurrencies and a lot more being released, its hard to single out already which will bring you to a Million Dollar Mark. It take some heavy prediction/research to somehow narrow down the choice and of course some streak of luck to hit the mark.

Yes, I believe it is possible and the best probability to get high gain is to invest into starting projects, most of them will be undervalued in the beginning.

I just recently found privacy token, their project is very interesting. I do believe that their prices might go (at least) x20 this year.

Yes. It is. But what industry are you referring to? What products? For me, it does not matter how much sales you have because what matters is how much your PROFIT is. How much are you taking home. Many experts are wondering -- could Bitcoin potentially rise to $1 million? ... There are a lot of things that would need to go right for bitcoin before a million-dollar valuation is possible.
