Is a million dollars possible?

If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

Possible, if you bought ethereum 1 year ago with your 10k usd. Now you would have 600k USD. Very close to become a millioneire 
If you bought litecoin 1 year ago with 10k usd, you would already have 1 millione usd in your pocket

it is possible only need full time work and make some trust in Buy/selling with experiences.

try with small about 1k of eth and ltc after 1 year check how much you gain

Monero had a long history of 0.5$-2$ prices. The ones that invested back then 10k$ into it are surely millionaires now. And it took 3 years.
Some coins do better, some not. 2017 was a crazy year and I can't tell if more will follow. And you need a crazy year for this, really, else it could take even 10 years easily.

Strangely enough, like you said, it was possible to become a millionaire with only a few hundred dollars if you found a unicorn coin. There have been a few of those. Probably pump and dump schemes.

The best example of a long term coin that could have made you a millionaire is of course Bitcoin. This year the best long term coins were Dash and NEO I think.

You could become millionaire by just holding onto the same coin but the question is which coin could become the next bitcoin, NXT, IOTA, Stratis. These are all coins which gained a huuuuuge plus

So can we expect the same growth for these coins again? Possible but it is "easier" to find a coin with a very low market cap which looks promising to make a 10k % jump than a coin which already have a huge market cap.

A coin with 10M market cap can grow 10x and you have just 100M market cap. 100x means 1000M marketcap and 1000x means 10 B market cap.
Maybe this is the right place to find the right coin.

I think it might be possible. But you would need to be lucky, find a gem no one knows about and pretty much put all your eggs in it. Risky... too risky

I guess a bitcoin could get a million dollars. Maybe it will not even surprise anyone to reach much more value. it may make sense to buy one bitcoin if you have money.

But the only ones who bought litecoin last year, and haven't sold them out yet, are the ones who lost their private key, their wallet.dat or just the ones who were not aware of that they bought them before.

If you bought litecoin 1 year ago with 10k usd, you would already have 1 millione usd in your pocket 

I can not understand why there is a lot of people wondering if they will be millionaires if they invest $100 or $1000, you are not going to be millionaire only because you want to .

 If you find a coin that has high potential in gaining value, with the newfound popularity and crypto currency’s it really wouldn’t surprise me for one to reach crazy prices. I would recommend keeping up on crypto news I’m just pulling the trigger on an investment when you see a good coin. As far as bitcoins concerned, now nothing would surprise me.

Yes it possible if your luck and i think it can be high more than what you think.I only join here in forum this august or july and i'm scared to do invest in that time,i also have question like yours when i'm newbie.It's so hard to predict the price here but since i start it's already 5x high now the price of btc,eth is 2x high now,ltc is 2x high also.Bitcoin is growing day by day even it just a little so invest now then after 2 to 3 years your btc will double in the future price if this will continue and it possible to become million but you need to take the hard of risk

And a million dollars is only possible if you invest a considerable amount of money, if you are like those guys who are always wishing to be millionaires only by investing $100 or $150, you are on the wrong path.

If you're not planning to trade (because in this case, I'm 99% sure you'll lose everything in the first year) — it's possible
Invest your money in strong coins from the top. Read their whitepapers first, look on the team and you will choose nice coins I guess

But anyway, don't think about a million every day. Money should be treated easily.

Predicting is very difficult and almost impossible. Of course, ideally divide your deposit into several parts and invest in different coins with a plan for the future. It's safe to leave them for several years and reap the investment fruits.
