Is uniform really necessary to students? Do we really need to formalize students to study? In most asian countries many require School uniform, mostly because of distinction of schools. However in the US, students can wear whatever they want for as long as they follow the dress code of the school on what is considere appropriate. What are your thoughts in this matter, do we really need school uniforms for students? Give some specific reasons why or why not.

In my own opinion, we do not need school uniforms. Uniforms does not make people an engineer for example because quality education does.

School uniform is necessary since it's the students' identity. Also, it is best to see students in their uniform because they are looking neat and tidy.

I agree, and wearing uniform in school will make them more looking formal than wearing anything, they will look more respected tha wearing casual wear.

Yes. I believe that it is necessary. Else the students will start coming to school in hip hop styles, which can create a lot of nuisance and distraction. We need strict regulations not only in dress code, but also in language and manners.

We really need school uniforms so that people would be recognize us wherever we are that we are students from certain schools. We need to wear it because it always represents the school that we are studying at. Also, through our uniforms, we would look more respectful and people would identify us too and through that, we could avail our discounts and benefits outside.

In my country school uniforms are mandatory from the basic to the secondary schools or as most people term it, the high schools. But in my opinion it's not really important at all and just a waste of money on the parents who are forced to buy them because it doesn't in no way improve the children on the academic level or has any advantages whatsoever.

Yes uniform cannot improve the academic level of children but it can help the parent not worrying the appropriate attire for school  of their children.  For me school uniform is a must coz its stand for the school your are in.

I'm torn, I see the value in having everbody dressed equally to maybe send a deeper message that we are all equal. However there is also something to be said about forcing everyone to conform, almost getting us used to wearing suits and ties sat in an office working a 9-5.

in grade school yes it is, but in college we dont need uniforms because teen ager gain confident to study if they are in fashion.

In my country, there is no uniform requirement in the colleges and I believe that in most of the countries that is the case. What is the need for enforcing uniform in the colleges? No one is going to like it, especially the students. Let them wear whatever they want.

School uniforms are mostly required to save the parents cost of buying some clothes to wear there children. It's also best to look all students wearing in uniforms.

For me, students need to wear unform because it will identify them where school they belong.  It is also nice to see students in uniform to look neat and clean. In other hand, it's OK to have uniform to have less dirty clothes to wash.

I hate uniforms! I just don't like uniformity in dressing. That's my instinct. I had wanted to pursue Nursing in first degree but I stopped because of the school uniform.

Honestly, I do not like uniforms. They're super hot to be into and very uncomfortable. Yes, it distincts a school from another but ever heard of school lanyards??? It's very expensive to buy uniforms especially if you had grown out of it.

In the other hand, I quite understand why. It is also for security of the school, to easily distinct the school students from those that isn't. Also, saves the time especially for girls to actually come up with something to wear.

In the end of the day, what matters is what the student will learn

Countries have each own culture and beliefs. School uniform is one way of remaining the cultural school dress. Without uniform some school looks like disrespectful to their own school and to their ancestors. This is a big issue in nowadays because some principals or Dean or the president of one school can make it in corruption mode that seems right for the entire system but actually have the big defects inside the system. US or China or Asea school uniforms applied in some schools specially in lower level to determine their belongingness.
