I don't mean that this team are criminals, they may even be nice people, but this branding is pushing the limits of good taste and even the law.
The SegWit2x fork that was due to go ahead on November 17th (and was cancelled on November 8th) would have increased the block size form 1MB to 2MB, and nothing else. Segwit itself is already activated. The new 'SegWit2x' due in the next day or two is led by another team of people, and aims to deliver completely different things to the original project: it increases the block size to 4MB (not 2MB), premines 2 million coins, switches from SHA256 to X11, changes block time, changes difficulty recalculation algorithm, makes some not-clearly-defined claims about stealing Satoshi's coin, and promises some future features that will almost certainly never be delivered. The *only* thing it shares with the original project is the name. Actually, it is just another altcoin forked from Bitcoin. By itself, that's fine: anyone is free to do that. But many people see the SegWit2x name and assume it is a retry of the last SegWit2x fork, which it isn't. The devs are claiming they are renewing the cancelled project, which they aren't. This is where the fraud is.

Well that isn't a sign of anything bad now is it? All I know is when proper hardware wallets and proper exchanges support this coin then I will look to claim my coins then. Until that happens I will be in the wind because two weeks of notice and being on bitcointalk isn't enough to get me to think of this as a real fork. Nice try though you almost had me

Reposting my comment from their reddit thread here.. it makes me chuckle:
I just attempted to load a bitcoin2x node compiled from their github codebase (knowing that it hasn't officially forked yet, but getting a head start), and though the node hasn't fully synced yet (300,000/500,000 blocks) I attempted to create a segwit address on the 'segwit2x' chain, which is essentially bitcoin core 0.15.1 with a new algorithm, expecting it to work without a problem.
Unfortunately, I get this error: $ bitcoin2x-cli addwitnessaddress 1Ap4Qq6tnAdMEcL2LSNQFxxxxxxxxxx error code: -4 error message: Segregated witness not enabled on network
If the 'segwit2x' guys haven't bothered to actually update their github to enable segwit, the day of the hard fork, that's moderately hilarious.
At least it gives people somewhere to point their X11 miners at since there are an literal plethora of them out there that need a distraction from the miserable returns they've been getting lately.

I notice this is an official b2x. Does anyone know if bittrex will support this fork at the proposed block by providing b2x to those who own btc in bittrex?

These guys are usually on top of any new forks. They will not add it to their search until they can build, run and confirm wallet balances on their own node. http://walletchecker.comNo private keys, simply paste the wallet address and click!

This time the fork feat was reflected negatively. There are small drops in BTC 2 days. Most investors know only name similarity.

THIS IS A SCAM
THIS IS NOT EVEN THE ORIGINAL SEGWIT2X
FUCK YOU
BUNCH OF PATHETIC CUNTS.
My question is why the original developer never comes out and refute this fork as a SCAM !!!

If the 'segwit2x' guys haven't bothered to actually update their github to enable segwit, the day of the hard fork, that's moderately hilarious. Naturally. The code on github is just a copy-paste from several sources. hev dev LOL. To whom are you addressing as dev? There's no dev on this thread. Just a guy promoting stuff. This fork is Scam ? Let's do clarification Such a question seems pointless to me. Do you actually expect someone to say "Yeah, it's a scam, we're sorry it didn't work out and we got caught, but no hard feelings"? Of course they'll say it's legit. "Yeah, it's a scam, we're sorry it didn't work out and we got caught, but no hard feelings"
