I am not sure that there is a new altcoin that can directly beat bitcoin. Coin status in the crypto currency market requires a process, especially in the process of building public trust. New coins must pass market fluctuations and various tests from haters who want to drop. Ethereum alone, as a coin that is younger than bitcoin but has great technology can not beat bitcoin. Technology is indeed ethereum more capable but in popularity and public trust, bitcoin wins. A lot of people really believe in bitcoin while with ethereum, they don't even know it yet. Obviously, no one can really surpass the value of bitcoins because the price is depending on the demand and it can increase even more in the future.
