I mined some blocks in the 24192 - 26208 epoch.  The difficulty was 14202.  I miscalculated, and thought the block rate was 10 blocks / hour (6 min each) rather than 6 blocks / hour (10 min each) and as a result I mined a little too fast and the difficulty rose to 20975.

I have cut back the GH/s that I am sending to BTE.  For the past 24 hours, the mining rate has been about 2.5 blocks / hour.  This will cause the chain to stay relatively updated, and the difficulty should drop.  If anyone flash mines faster after 14 days, the difficulty will still drop.  A few people dropped in with huge hash rates and mined a few blocks during the past week, then left again.

I will try to strike a balance of gaining coins & keeping the difficulty low.

I would like to have software that will work with the cgminer API, perhaps in Python, and send lots of hashpower when there is a transaction to process, and then wait for a timeout to send more hashpower.

thank you!~i'm buying all I can off the exchanges while this gem is still wayyyy undervalued imho!=) buy/mine+hold type coin!!  Wink

I am selling.  I set my price by the difficulty ratio.

ok well dump to 420 i will scoop them up! LOL   Wink  get it? hahaaa

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Yes, there has been a large amount of volume for BTE on the exchanges in the past week. It is still a great bargain.

I am using the original client with success.  This is not merge mined.
There is a stratum pool available, at stratum+tcp://stratum.coinex.pw:9022  This pool requires you to register and to use a worker name/password.
I have pointed a portion of an Avalon toward the pool.  The three day average since the last difficulty change gives 3.48 blocks / hour with an expected difficulty drop in 20 days.
I will try to keep my hashrate low enough that the difficulty drops, but the long range forecast is that Avalon owners will move to BTE as their net earnings fall to their electricity cost.  I may switch my strategy as things evolve.

I try to be respectful and informed.

bte.cryptocoinexplorer.com resolves to 84.200.4.218
I see connections to that address in my debug.log, and I see block numbers that are more recent.

Are there any new nodes available?  I can't seem to get more than one node connected from the list provided.

for IPv6, use

[2001:470:c019::2013:401]

Note the clever use of 2013-04-01

Do the Chinese have a Alt Coin exchange? That could be a lot of demand for ByteCoins if they open one!

I agree, guys lets get this on a Chinese exchange, BTER is a good exchange, they are pretty robust, how do we get that done? I'm here to help.

Also, do you want me to work on a Chinese translation, think it should be pretty easy. ahmed_bodi would you upload for us if I translate the website?

Hey I actually deal with the website - if you do a chinese translation I'd be happy to make a chinese version of the site. Drop me an email if you want: chris@hireahenchman.co.nz

addnode=188.165.19.11:6333
addnode=24.172.89.154:6333
addnode=75.156.209.173:6333
addnode=65.19.151.2:6333

addnode=84.240.60.149:6333
addnode=67.184.53.170:6333
addnode=85.17.227.176:6333
addnode=84.200.84.74:6333

Or if you're a windows user just download the installer off the site. I believe that sets everything up for you Smiley

Are you asking for technical help to configure the erupter, or asking for a pool address?
