When you buy from Alibaba, a lot of the shippers don't want to use trade assurance or escrow. Do you trust them?

I had only make a purchase on Alibaba once and I didn't know that it's not assured but thankfully my package arrived after a month since it's from overseas (a tattoo supply set specifically)

No - alibaba is like ebay. Anyone can sell on there, and without trade assurance, there is nothing to prevent them from scamming you.

I use AliExpress (of Alibaba group) for some years now. Sometimes had good, sometimes had bad. Unfortunately I didn't really buy expensive stuff (because then I have to pay for the customs and it becomes more expensive than in my country), but maybe it helps. Basically you have to go by some rules:

1. Ask for extending the "purchase period" until the package was opened and tested by you. Never accept anything else.

2. Confirm the package arrived only after you know it has come in good condition and it works as they stated.

AliExpress usually works as some sort of escrow and if you, as buyer, are not happy with what you got and you can prove nicely that a scam was attempted against you, you'll get your money back. I did when it was the case. Of course, this doesn't work always smoothly. But most sellers are okay; and most of the time I've got the products okay, so I didn't have to complain.

You're covered pretty much like ebay, just make sure to contest if the seller is trying to weasel you in any way before the timer expires. From China a lot of packages are late, simply ask to extend until you receive the package and contest if they try to weasel you.

I believe that they only get the money when you confirm good received or the timer expires.

I don't trust them, but as long as i'm protected by alibaba which like Virosa said works a bit like ebay, i think it's going to be fine. Make sure that you find a reputable seller with lots of history, make sure that they state thet whatever they are selling is genuine(otherwise it's probably a fake and you can't get your money back), and use your common sense.

Also don't use WU or any non reversible payments to pay.

Use your credit card or paypal so you can easily dispute it if you rip. But more importantly just avoid it all by choosing the right seller.

AliExpress have very decend shipping to almost all countries that has a significant improvement since the last years. I remember huge delays with shippments some years ago but now even the goods from black friday take like 1-3 weeks to deliver. The sellers always warried about the feedback that you give them. They may get a lot of troubles if you will have some complaints. To be 100% sure that you will get a refund if they did something wrong you need to make a video where you are unpacking their package. All accusations on Aliexpress are resolved very quickly. If you did not recieved your order that was sent without a tracking number they are usually sending a new one without any questions.

I think it's safe because AliExpress or Alibaba got a very good customer service and consumer protection, a big company usually got a very good system for payment and protection, and if the company is not compatible you will see a lot of people complaining or accused them of scamming, but if you search on Google Alibaba is one of the most trusted and biggest e-commerce, so I think it's safe, and from my experience it's safe

Like Amazon they are one of the trust e-commerce store to buy the any products. In top 10 list of the world they are also in the list. I know you buy the components for GPU rig and they sells antminer series hardwares.
If there is no source in-between you means you can always go with the escrow that is the right.
Alibaba have the selling rights and guarantee for the purchase.

I haven't really used alibaba yet, i've been shopping on aliexpress and never had problems with any of the item(s). one should definitely avoid the shippers who won't be willing to use escrow or provide some sort of guarantee.

It's dependable on what product you are going to buy. I trust the company itself but there are times that I had problem with them when it comes to the products, sometimes the seal is broken but the product itself is good. And on this, in summary I trust alibaba / aliexpress.

I hope it's not too late. You haven't paid then anything yet, have you? Don't. Here's a story which explains why:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2610422.0

If they refuse escrow or LOC (Letter of Credit), they are scammers. Legitimate commercial transactions are settled with the appropriate and correct protection systems and legitimate Chinese shippers are aware of this practice.

Be especially wary of requests to settle by bitcoin alone. Refusing PayPal or a bank transfer is a red flag. This signals a risk of paying and later having no recourse in the event of non delivery or default by the shipper. So just don't do it. Don't give in to the attractiveness of the offer, however tempting the price and discount offered.

Aliexpress has an escrow element integrated within the trade platform so there is no reason for not using it.

Shills are everywhere and will say anything for a fast buck. Ignore nerve-struck butt-hurt Chinese scammers who might be reading this thread and urge you to go ahead and do it. Don't send coins upfront.

I've already bade several purchases from Alibaba. Just pick a reputable seller and you will be fine. Normaly there always are a lot of sellers selling the same things so you will definetely have a choice. The worst that happened to me is that they've put lessthings than was listed in original description and claimed that they will send the rest with my next order (and they did). I still think that it was not a mistake.

yes i trust, I bought saveral times in alibaba always sent and safe without insurance, my strategy to get a good seller by looking at reviews so can see previous buyers comments whether it is good or bad. if that's a bad comment I would not buy at the seller, you'd better find another
