why do we need politicians?

We need politicians for us to have a leader to lead our society, to make law and implement it. But sad to say the politicians that must implement the law, help our country to be better are the one who make it harder for us

The whole idea in the founding of America and its government was in two basic parts:
1. That the people be free to do anything as long as they didn't hurt other people;
2. A government to protect people from invaders, and to organize jury protection when somebody claimed he was hurt by another person.

That was it. All the laws and government were set up for these two things only.

Sadly, today we see government being used by government officials to plunder the people, and to get the nation into all kinds of messes that were not intended.

How can we protect ourselves from government officials? Use the jury properly, same as it always was.

The following short video doesn't use a jury, but it shows you what can be done even without a jury... if you do it right.

I understand the need of a government, but not the need of politicians.

It always feels like you have a bunch of unqualifying people doing the work. Each field should require the skills necessary to do the job.

It seems that all you need to run the country, or any part of it, is be good at convincing the majority of the people you should run it. They convince them by talks and nothing more. And the talks, probably comes from someone else.

I remember watching debates from when Obama and McCain was running, and every debate both of them would talk about the same exactly thing they have previewsly done so. It was almost like they memorized their plans, and had no other information outside of that. They were masters at diversion, since they kept going around without answering many questions.
It was almost like they were thinking. "Well, I don't have an answer for that, there was nothing about that on my study sheet, let me use my diversion skills and make it about something I did study".

politicians serve as a leader of a nation, state and some smaller group of the country! the politician will lead this group to be as one and those guys are making laws for the country to be peaceful and have some leaders so everyone has someone to follow and be unite. politicians are the most corrupt person in every country too!

We need leaders who understand that governing means uniting and building coalitions, not dividing and conquering. We don’t need more partisanship or divisiveness.  We need leaders with a broad set of work experiences and strong management skills—leaders who will use discretion and good judgment.  In other words, we need elected officials that do not represent the status quo.
 

It’s no secret that we have lost faith in our elected officials, both Democrat and Republican. They have often failed to properly anticipate problems, and their responses have been slow, reactionary and filled with excuses. Instead of taking responsibility, they spin half-truths that they think the rest of us will actually believe.  Borrowing from The Who, let’s “not get fooled again".  Our elected officials need to wake up and realize their constituents are fed up with their nonsense.

because humans are social animals and we need a hierarchy (it means strong,smart will rule) but in these days politicians doesnt have good traits instead of that they are just manipulating people.

Delegating responsibility and authority is a normal thing. It's a basic principle for organising most types of activity.

There's nothing wrong with having politicians. It's wrong to have corrupt politicians.

We need politicians to make laws for us. But politicians now are clans , ruled by them , when a politician in a certain clan retired in its position , a clan member will be the next to run for the position. We need politicians in our nations because we need leaders to lead us in good society. Politicians make rules and laws for us to follow with. To make us a good citizens in our society.

99% of all politicians  represent only themselves or some clans that they belongs to. And they don't care anything exept money, power and our voices on elections. I think, direct democracy can solve this problem. But it will become possible only when all people become true citizen who really care about they state.

Because unless you want a dictatorship or monarchy thats the only way people can be represented in a functional manner.

The benefit of a Republic is that the people are controlled by a written law. John Adams said “We are a nation of laws not men.” The reason we have politicians is so that we have officials that can uphold the written law. America’s written law is unique because it leaves areas where laws can be open for the people to decide. If the people do have an idea, but it violates the guidelines set by our written law (the Constitution) then the politicians can vote it down. Politicians have another huge role which is to keep other politicians and the other branches in check.

For me we need a politician to be responsible of leading the nation,city,barangay and etc.In order to maintain peaceful society to make people obey and lead them to the right way by following the law with the rules and regulation for a peaceful society.

They are the ones who lead us and acts as a role model for everyone, they are the key players in the government and without them all of its division and subdivision will not work that is why election is really important and we have to choose the right leader for us.

I don't think we need politicians, majority of them do not have the interest of the people at heart, we only need credible democratic leaders.

The biggest reason why we need politicians is so that we have to build a place for them. The place we build is called "government."

Why do we need politicians and government? So that we know where the worst criminals are, so we know exactly where to let the nukes strike if it ever becomes necessary.

We need politician who would amend the laws in the government, who helps our president to lead the nation politician can be of help without much being politics, it is the politics that make politician do silly things, they have their own hidden agenda to push through with, they want the best place in the society, best payment and best recognition, they have special interest in the position rather than have a disposition in life... they make politics more horrible to look up to, instead of being an inspiration for everyone to see, they serve nation with interest in mind and this makes politics look bad in the eye of the whole nation.
