Hey guys,

I have been having a wee look around to try and find somewhere to liquify crypto without using coinbase and their extortionate fees etc. Does anyone on here have any suggestions? Right now its seeming like some long winded game of transferring to bitcion to then go through coinbase to transfer to pounds with stupidly high fees. Any info?

https://cex.io is a company located in England, maybe it'll serve you better. They actually have GBP trading pairs.

You could also try Bitstamp.

There are Bitcoin ATMs in most major cities.

Another option is to fins a person through localbitcoins.com if you want to save some taxes.

localbitcoins is an option but you couls also try BISQ,
https://bisq.network
I have not tried them myself.
I came across the link in another thread on the forum.

I personally think localbitcoins is by far the best compared to all the rest. It's worldwide (including UK) and it's so easy to buy and sell Bitcoins using bank transfers and a lot of other alternatives.

The rates are set there by traders themselves so you can come across decent rates if you carry out your research properly.

Another one I know of is Bittylicious, but the rates there aren't as good as the ones I can get on localbitcoins.

Thanks so much for the help guys! I Think I will try local bitcoins and CEX.io - I want to try amd liquify the Ethereum without converting to BTC fiest due to the excessive fees whiach are incurred!

To the fella who said about ATMs, I'm yet to see one in London but I could be mistaken in thinking that there aren't any.

cex.io and localbitcoins are really expensive. Also cex fee is rising the price more then ever.
But you can buy with your credit card from cex this will work for most of us..

You mean liquidate right? There are a lot of options, but I agree with users here: Localbitcoins and Bisq are to me the best in terms of lots of choices and if you are patient, you may find good rates. Just be aware of scams and untrusted users. Fee wise, these are the best (they do not look good at first glance but minus the rates from other services, you discover they can be cheaper.

For us here, we also use Luno quite well, and I know in Europe you can use Austrian exchanger BPanda with no verification (but small limits). My suggestion is to find trusted traders on localbitcoins, keep in contact, later you will know which also buys other cryptos.

I'm looking for the same, ready for the future.  Coinbase fess, are they actually high or is that BTC fees?  I cant find their fees right now (they do hide them away) but i dont recall their problem being fees, but reliability with withdrawals, lots of complaints.

Been looking at Cex.io, their fees seem OK but their BTC price is consistently higher than other exchanges, that's good for withdrawing but watch out on depositing you could be near 10% out of pocket (arbitrage opportunity here). They offer withdrawal back to Mastercard which needs exploring, as it gets around problems with banks not accepting funds from Bitcoin.   Unsure if they have limits on the amount though.

Bitstamp is long standing exchange, so should be OK. Verification is slow, i've been waiting days with no feedback (no point chasing it up this week with everything going on and holidays)

Localbitcoins is not viable if you're not in London or major city, and im not too comfortable with meeting some bloke in East London for a 10k trade....

Bittylicious is outrageously wide of the spot price, 20% out.

Coinfloor looks promising, though £2.5 min deposit (believe the BTC deposit is far lower).

CoinCorner is another one i've found, not much to go on fees look low for withdrawal (1.50 for SEPA)

As i understand the biggest problem in UK is banks not accepting the incoming funds from BTC sources, even if they are providing SEPA service, and you have to withdraw as Euro so may have poor bank exchange rate.   Apparently some banks will be OK if call them to say "large amount coming in" while others will reject, so its worth checking your bank.

Because of the high fees at Coinbase I have started buying through Cryptopay, via Euro. Happy with it so far. I don't use the debit card, just the option to buy BTC via a connected bank account.

"Cryptopay Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales registration number 08730592"

I forget Kraken do deposits/withdrawal.  Is that next day SEPA clearance for withdrawing ?

Do people find the transfers to banks working, are the reports of problems overblown (you only hear the complaints...)

Cryptopay needs further investigation.

YEah, liquidate, my bad!

And, yeah, those two do seem like the best until TenX allow Ethereum anyway! I have their card just do not like using BTC for anything really if I am honest as the fees and wait times are ridiculous.

To the guys mentioning SEPA, am I missing something when I say SEPA transaction fees are £9 in the UK? Again, I do not wish to pay that sort of fee, I know it is not really much at all Im just a man of principle paying extortionate fees is something I am 100% against.
