Hi Cyrus or anyone that can fix this ..

I used to be user "Triffin" start date in 2013 and had reached Sr Member status/rank ..
I was unable to login as "Triffin" late this fall ..
I recently created a new user name "WasTriffin" which is what I'm using now ..

Tonight I ran across one of my old posts as "Triffin" and checked the stats and recent post history ..
The last post that I made as "Triffin" was Aug 2nd 2017 ..
Someone else has hijacked the "Triffin" user and made at least 73 posts since the last time that I actually posted on Bitcoin Talk ..

The hijacker's first post under MY user NAME was made on Oct 8th 2017 ..
All subsequent posts from Oct 8th 2017 ARE NOT from me ..
I never "sold" or otherwise disposed of "Triffin" ..
I wouldn't even know how to do that ..
Any chance I can recover my "Triffin" id and posting history pre Aug 2nd 2017 ??

TIA

The original "Triffin"

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

could you link the account in question? Also, if you have access to the address on the Triffin profile, then some sign would be beneficial.

Follow the directions in this thread:

 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

You will need to find a post with your BTC address from before it was stolen. You will
be required to sign a message with your address in your wallet and have it verified.
Goodluck!!!

I'm an old dog ( 65 ) that forgot most of his tricks  Cool

Shazam !!!

I read thru the tutorial you linked above ..
The BTC wallet I was going to use is a blockchain.info wallet ..
which if I read the tutorial correctly no longer supports "signed messages" ..

This is really frustrating as I KNOW who I am ..
It's apparently easier to "hijack" a BitCoinTalk account than to recover one
for the person that got "hijacked" in the first place .. namely ME ..

I hope the person that "hijacked" me is pleased with him or her self ..
Guess I'll just have to be "WasTriffin" going forward ..

I understand most of your frustration. My account was Locked, and I had to
do all of this too. I see there is an option for exporting, but it looks difficult
at best. Hopefully a Mod can Help Out here. For now until you can get
more help, you need a Mod to get that account locked, to prevent anymore
postings under your account. I'll take a further look into the exporting to see
if it is worth the hassle.

I know your in the dumps but, Happy holidays!!!

I did some quick digging and it looks like you can sign from that wallet. From what I
see you can still use your original address. Take a look at this video from YouTube to
see how to use the new user interface on their site:
