My favorite wallet is the Trezor, because I like the design of it. But the Ledger is also cool because you can use it with some exchanges like etherdelta to secure your altcoins and it supports more coins than Trezor.

Trezor had one security flaw (due to its chipset) which I don't think has been fixed. Basically, it's fairly simple to gain access to the Trezor PIN, seed, and private keys if the Trezor is physically stolen. As long as you can keep the Trezor itself safe that won't be a concern though.
Not sure if the Ledger had a similar issue or not.
But you can always just buy both to support the industry and to spread out your coins to hedge your risks.

Both hardware wallets are good. You should choose the one that support most of your coins. The list of coins can be found in the official website.

I am using Trezor already for 6 months - very happy with it. Always good, always safe, nothing bad that I can say about it. I believe Ledger good as well, but I never used that

In fact, you can buy both purses. Since scammers and hackers develop every day. Probably find what kind of vulnerability it is. Or I do not know - an error. Therefore, it is better to share even between such purses. But this is my opinion. And it also depends on the finances and the amount you want to keep.

I will buy Nano Ledger S at the end of March. I have many ERC20 tokens and any hard wallet doesn`t support them. But Ledger can connect to web-browser to my MEW wallet. It will get a safety to my tokens!
After buying it, write your opinion, please. We are waiting for commentaries from owners. Hope it will be useful for you to use and for use to know before making a final decision.

Or you have to write ETH wallet and then send tokens to Trezor and pay commission?

The only thing that sets me back on a Ledger is that it's code it's closed source (vs. Trezor that is open-source). Who knows if they have some kind of backdoor just waiting to be activated ...

I prefer Trezor right now but in a short while here I may diversify and look to get other hardware wallets and the Ledger is a close second for me. The only reason I prefer Trezor actually is because they could have shipped it to me quicker, otherwise I would have chosen Ledger because it is cheaper.

My choice would Trezor. It looks much simpler and better quality, and it also has a look-free structure. The ledger is more complicated.

I agree with you! I've been using Ledger for a long time and for me this is the most reliable and convenient wallet. I store in it my coins, which I bought for long-term storage.

I also chose trezor but at the beginning I chose ledger nano but when I tried to buy I have to wait delivering until 15 March then I bought trezor and it was delivered in the week. So I use trezor and I like it.

I use Ledger. My friend recommended me to buy this wallet. I did not compare Ledger to Trezor, but I can definitely say that it's very convenient to use Ledger.

I think the Ledger Nano S is great and user friendly. Just a friendly reminder, if you are buying the Ledger Nano S or Trezor. Please make sure you buy it from the manufacturer. Try not to buy it second hand (bad bad idea) or from resellers, as there has been cases of hacks or seed keys that were stolen. Be safe out there, and always adhere to the Number # 1 rule in crypto: your coins, your keys.

I am still kinda a newbie and not real technical, will say I have a ledger, like it a lot and it is very easy to use. Have not tried a trezor but can recommend ledger.

he's talking about the nature of the hardware and software, not how they work. both of them operate securely for customers but this question is all about the back end. the ledger's chip and firmware is closed source. trezor's is not. both of them have open source apps.

To be honest, I myself do not know. thought for a long time and thought. Finally decided to buy both Trezor & Ledger. Suddenly, if with one of them happening something, the other part will be preserved. I always try to diversify the risks. Especially if it's about finance.
