In recent times, it seems almost all the ICOs are scam. They present a catchy whitepaper just to get the attention of investors and after receiving the huge sums of money, do not even pursue the goals of what was presented in the whitepaper. The coins gradually turns out to be a pump and dump coin. It is no wonder China and other social media platforms banned all fake ICOs.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Are you actually asking whether no new projects will be started in 2018? Of course will initial coin offerings not die, new ideas arise every day and these ideas need money.

ICO should improve its strategy because right now there are many ICOs that bring bad advertisement to the crypto world. I think some ICOs are good and it will help crypto develop but others are bad and are a negative influence to the crypto world

Personally, I think that ICO will become better in 2018, as there will be less skam in this market.

I also think that there will be much more quality projects in 2018. People have gained experience and now they are difficult to deceive. Fraudulent projects won't be able to attract so many people as before. This is a very good trend.

I believe ICO will not die in 2018, but will be regulated soon.
There are so many shit ICOs out there, with the only purpose to grab money from us.

I don't think the ICOs are going to die this early. But yeah more and more countries are going to ban them and then try to regulate them like China. Also the recent social media bans for ICO ads is a positive news for the crypto markets.

The ICO sphere is very young and in the near future it will develop. Of course, a lot of things must to change so that the SKAM disappears, but it will definitely happen in the course of time.

I do not think that it will be possible for someone to deal with bitcoin because this is a very powerful system that a group of hackers can not even overcome.

I do not think that ICO will disappear so quickly and disappear at all. Certainly there will be changes in the legal part and form of presentation, sale. And this is necessary to protect investors from scam. There is really a lot of scams. However, the idea itself is very good. It opens up great opportunities for both the founders of start-ups and investors. Almost any person can participate and make money on this, legally naturally.
of course if the ICO starts to disappear it will impact some of the other crypto coins with it investors begin to look for opportunities in the crypto world by switching to some really nice coins that are being hotly discussed by people like altcoin, ETH, BTC that can produce in the future day.

I dont see if ICO will die, popularity of ICO just began, we can see this from many previous ICO was successfully reached their hardcap just a few day even just a few hours. In the future ICO will surpass IPO because now many big company chooce ICO to development their project than IPO, just like Telegram.

By the way all the countries are banning ICOs, I don't think that ICOs are gonna survive in the coming years but I think that it's not gonna die in 2018, it's gonna take a few more time for the people to know that not all ICOs are worthy of investments.

Flock news seems to be an interesting ico coming soon. Decentralized news network based on Eth. They're offering a 10k airdrop (0.2 eth value at ico) to the first 100 members of their telegram. Worth it just for that they don't really bug you for info just want you to engage. T.me/flocknewsofficial is their telegram.

ICO will never be able to die. ICOs are now being imposed by the nations on them. If you want to raise funds through an ICO you must meet the conditions that your country offers. ICOs are still allowed to operate, but they will be put into action. In order to limit the scams ICO, bad quality rampant in the market today. I think that, in the coming time, ICO projects will be potential ICOs for us to invest in them.

A lot of ICOs came on bord late last year which many of them came out to be a scam either pump and dump project which saw to it that they investors lost a lot of money in the projects and this end up to give the cryptocurrencies system a bad name, I don't think we need any ICOs because bitcoin and ethereum can perform all the services this new icos tend to offer.

Don't think ICO will die in 2018. It is still very good and clear mechanics for bringing to life ideas that can change the world.

We invite everybody who is interested in this in our thread to discuss: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3076464.new#new

The use of ICOs are being bastardized by scammers, lots of irrelevant projects, too many similar projects, failed projects and people who just want to make money, cut and run. That being said, I dont think ICOs will die in 2018. However the percentage of unsuccessful ICOs may increase as more people become skeptical to invest due to scammers, too many ICOs all at once seeking to share available funds from investors, poor quality projects etc

So conclusion is ICOs wont die but will get more and more unattractive, except something is done.

ICO will not die in 2018, but might be regulated.
The good old days for ICOs has gone.
ICO teams won't be able to hit hard cap easily, investors won't make good profit either.

I wouldn't be suprised if everyone started to apply same model of ICO in their fundings, much easier and better.

Why should ICO die? There will always be new start-ups and developments. They demand money. Now it is very easy to find them. Investors multiply their investments, developers make their projects.
