I'm probably not so well-informed on this case. But in my opinion, bitcoin number 1 is primarily due to popularity, cost, and trust among others. But whether it is all for long, time will tell.

I think bitcoin will last longer in number one for at least five more years. Even though so many altcoins were introduced in over past years no one able to go by bitcoins because it has so many qualities like you mentioned.

If in my opinion, Bitcoin is number 1 in terms of Store of Value. Every service is in money transfer, Convenience, Security, Investment and others because all of these things are in Bitcoin. We all know that bitcoin is most popular when it comes in investment. Surely everyone will pick the most popular cryptocurrency so bitcoin becomes number 1.
