Yes it can reach that landmark by this year as it can be easily reached because btc has potential to reach such levels.Predictions are diffucult to make in such feild but $40k seems achievable so lets wait and watch this happen.

It is possible, it is also possible for bitcoin to go and be traded for like 100$ per coin.... this is highly speculative asset and if you get good news surrounding bitcoin and other alts their marketcap can grow fast and pick new ATHs. Its not impossible for bitcoin to reach 40k specially if people start to see it like a gold mine for investing.

What I am waiting for right now is for Lightening network to become effective. If that can happen, there is every possibility that we may even see $40000 before the end of 2018 and that should be an healthy one as bitcoin becomes more useful as a currency with a lightening speed for transactions and low fees coupled with the level it has gotten to already.

I think that it would be a little bit hard for bitcoin to reach that price.Its because bitcoin is now itself struggling to reach its own ATH price of $20,000.More over,its also suffering from heavy transaction fee issue.So,i think that this 2018 would be a tough year for bitcoin.

The price of bitcoin is too unpredictable, but against the backdrop of a low commission of altcoins it will be much more difficult to grow in price in 2018. I think $ 40,000 is the maximum mark that he will be able to touch at the end of next year.

In 2018 I think that the price of bitcoin has no boundaries and no barriers that can stop the price to reach whatever value it is. Just like what you've mention doubling of its current price, but if price might be able to surge back to how much it can be and possible it could take much higher or even quadruple of its current value. The biggest possibility is always there, so the best thing we can do is always wait for the actual scenario to show off.

Ethereum did touched the $1,000 mark and I guess there is a big group of whales that are starting to pump every coin.

Before it went to bitcoin, then litecoin, then xrp and now Ethereum. As Novogratz said that bitcoin will reach $40,000 this year let's trust him as there's nothing to be gone if we will believe on his prediction.

Waiting for bitcoin's bull and that's all we can do if you're a long term holder but if not, then keep buying.

Yeah with the acceptance btc gained last year, that's not impossible. Thoug of course corrections will play a part and there may be panic selling from jittery hands once again. But 40k can be branded as a decent target

In my opinion there is an higher chance we get to 30k but if we get to 40k I'm not going to complain, in my country 40k is a lot of money I could live with that money for several years.

I think 40k is so expensive  and the fee's of transaction is to high if bitcoin valued touch down on that price and alot of transaction will be delayed such as big amount transact.  Perhaps its possible to happen cause on this year i know there will be a massive demand , double from the year 2017, unless there's  no other issues again that can make alot investors decide to transfer into alts.  Haha however i think 20k is enough cause maybe a lot of problems will emerge again if that times happen.

Transaction fees and speed are probably the only thing really holding us back from reaching 40k much before the end of the year, if that can be solved soon then the price can really increase in my opinion. 40k by the end of the year seems like quite a modest estimate in comparison and I wouldn't be surprised if it's more towards 6 figures than that.

I guess Bitcoin will rise more than that amount of money you mention above, OP. In my opinion, Bitcoin price will go up pretty fast in 2018. Do you remember the drastic increase of Bitcoin prices last year? If you remember then you know also that the price of Bitcoin can increase to 10-fold in 1 month. That can happen, but a fall in prices can also happen. Even a fall in prices can lead to a fall in prices to half of the Bitcoin price. But we need not fear, because I'm sure Bitcoin price will increase sharply this year. I hope Bitcoin will continue to increase to give me a lot of profit, hahaha.

I don't think it would reach that way, it's exaggeration of the prices. you know guys it would go to the moon but that doesn't mean to climb its price to $40000 im not being hypocrite here not believing onto its capability growing very fast and don't forget about the taxes when bitcoin will reach $40000 that will government will hand on. It took 7 years to reach $20000 mark , i think this also needs time for a $40000 value.
