KA dev here. In May we put up a video series that explains what bitcoins are and how they work. After that, we got a bunch of requests asking us to accept donations in bitcoin. That makes a tonne of sense, so now you can donate bitcoins to Khan Academy! The donate page now has a bitcoin option listed under other ways to donate.

If you donate, you can even earn a special badge on your profile called "I am Satoshi Nakamoto".

Awesome! I've been working KA into daughter's homeschool lesson plans for the past couple weeks!

KA content's always very well-explained. Very thorough and time-efficient. Excited there may be even more content added before she starts. Donated!

I was surprised by that, too. If you don't have to register, it's not very clear on how to donate without.

I was surprised by that, too. If you don't have to register, it's not very clear on how to donate without.
+1, maybe this was a deliberate choice, but many bitcoin people seem to value their privacy (though I would expect this to become less outspoken so as the currency becomes more mainstream), so you might get a lot more donations if registration is not required.
