Gah, it's so uninspiring hearing the guys like "Yeah I'm not pulling enough with my 5000 videocards" lol
As a rookie miner who just got in the game 3 weeks ago with his old Gaming computer (2x 2G Radion HD 6950s  overclocked and undervolted and an 8 Core AMD processor,) I'm just keeping an eye on pretty much ANY mineable coin that is NOT on the first page of coinmarketcap.

Sucks that most you guys are talking about nVidia cards. 1 Being the different algos and 2, didn't you guys hear Windows finally admitted AMD is more superior? But none the less....

Any tips on some good algos for AMD cards? I'm rocking Claymore for fkn Bytecoin (still have a feeling it could reach the $1 in a couple years), Marlin for Siacoin (For now until like buddy said on the other page, the Asic miners are released in June) and using Blaggo miner for some Burstcoin HDD mining.

What would be the best algo and pool to mine zclassic on with an nvidia rig for maximum steady income?

I use ZECminer (equihash) and miningspeed.com, it goes around 50$/day with my setup but ZCL is an annoying coin because before you can transfer it, you need to sync with the blockchain, it took me some time to finally access my coins.

13 GPU Nvidia Rig running under Ubuntu 16 (eth hash rate: 300+Mh/s @ 1000W for whole rig): 3x EVGA GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 65W) + 6x MSI Armor GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 70W) + 1x MSI GTX 1060 (24Mh/s @ 65W) + 3x Zotac GTX 1060 (24MH/s @ 65 W). PSU 2400W, Asrock ASRock H110 Pro BTC+, cheap Chinese risers, Kingston SSD 120Gb, 8Gb memory. Selling some of my GPUs (around 200€, still under warranty), if you're interested, contact me in private.

I was mining a bunch of XSH for a few days, around 400-500 per day with nine 1070s, but now am getting less than 200 per day................this is on bigmine pool.  Is there a best pool and best algorithm to use with nvidia cards for maximizing XSH (Shield Coin) profits these days?  I see a lot of people using x17 on the bsod pool.  Is that the best route?

Also, this could be due to the price increase of XSH...............that was a good, solid coin to get in early on.  I only got in a few days ago, so missed a month or two of mining to build up a stake before the big rise.

Are there any other great prospective coins like Shield (XSH) that are in the *VERY* early mining phase, prior to any major runup?  I'm looking to get in at the ground floor before the major bull run happens.

If you want ground floor... BTCZ is a solid project with a lot of potential. The community support behind it is awesome.

Bringing up an oldish thread, but I found it useful. Any more info?
Ideally I'd like to find PoS coins in the early stages where mining could be profitable if the coins take off.

I was mining ELLA and UBIQ for a little while before. It was easy since I had an ETH mining rig anyway, and those two coins use the same algo. The thing is even though its easy, its kind of a waste. The best thing to do is just mine the most profitable coin for your set up, sell it every payout and buy the one you think will increase the most. A little bit more work but you'll get more coins of whatever currency you want that way.

if you want to exchange your coin in money directly after the payout, you should aim for the most profitable coin (and probably change every day). If you want to hold, then you should select a coin that has the highest chance of survival because there are already too many different coins on the market and many of them will fail sooner or later (if not all of them at some point). I believe coins like ETH have this longer term potential.

What I also did is investing a low amount of money every month buying some low value coins knowing that they may disappear but if one of them hits the roof, you easily get the money back. I bought XRP when it was below 1$, went up to almost 3$, good deal. With the benefits I bought other coins of a lower value.

You can mine Pegascoin. Has low difficulty, still making many coins, and has 2 unique projects rolling: DOB 1.0 and DOB 2.0 with active development.

Example : ESTIMATED DAILY DAC REWARD is 81 PGC @ http://dob2.pegascoin.com/

Undervaluated until is really discovered.

Look at the Monero after fork (change V7 algo). It is really promising several days after fork. It's like picky cherry  Grin
Then comes band wagon from ETH miners  Grin then the difficulty jump very fast and not so profitable anymore.
It seems that when miner from ETH migrate to Monero, mining ETH becomes more profitable again. You should try before it's too late  Tongue

Any new coins that have been good for anyone?

I'm also wondering what is good at the moment.
Any sites that are good for keeping up to date about mineable coins?

Thank you in advance.

I think you should also be looking at speculative coins which are ALREADY LISTED on exchanges. Its so difficult to rely on a coin to actually get listed. Just take a look at BitcoinPrivate (BTCP), it was developed by the team behind ZClassic and they ran everything professionally but in the end no other exchange listed them. Up to today, the value of the coins is going down because the only place they are listed on is TradeSatoshi. This is a decently well-known team which had problems getting listed, what more for those shitcoins.

Most solid blockchain and project of 2018.

DERO: Privacy + Smart Contracts
Dero has written its own blockchain completely from scratch and we are on our blockchain now.
DERO is completely new CryptoNote blockchain in Golang.
DERO is first blockchain to have complete SSL in P2P layer.
DERO will be first CryptoNote blockchain to have 500 Transactions Per Seconds on its native blockchain without any lightning networks or validators or off-blockchain solutions.
DERO will be first CryptoNote blockchain to have smart contracts on its native chain without any extra layers or secondary blockchains.

Download Pre-compiled binaries for MacOS, FreeBSD, NetBSD ,Linux, Windows, Solaris etc. from: http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/

Before you scroll further, Read  DERO article : https://medium.com/@867cryptocurrency/dero-a-new-blockchain-technology-that-brings-cryptonote-privacy-together-with-smart-contracts-4cc4972c81f8

How to join DERO Network in 2 mins?
Choose your OS and arch(32/64 bit) from MacOS,FreeBSD, NetBSD, Linux, Windows, Solaris, Raspberry Pi or any arm device etc. and download pre-compiled binaries from http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/
Start derod* and wait for sync around 20-60 mins depending on Network and CPU speed.
In Parallel start dero-wallet* and using menu create DERO address and save your seed.
Use exchange or join any pool for mining.

How to shift on new DERO blockchain:
Choose your OS and arch(32/64 bit) from MacOS,FreeBSD, NetBSD, Linux, Windows, Solaris,Raspberry Pi or any arm device etc. and download pre-compiled binaries from http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/
Start derod* and wait for sync around 20-60 mins depending on Network and CPU speed.
Parallely start dero-wallet* and using menu re-create DERO wallet using old wallet seed.

WHY DERO AND WHY SMART CONTRACTS NEED PRIVACY ?
In very simple and few words:
Assume you design a smart contract and integrate to access/authorize a building/open a door or any other service like asset-management/tickets/shares distribution based on smart contract.
Many would not like like to share/view details of all other users/customers who used/participated/access that contract/service.
I hope you too would like transparency in contract details but would not like to share/disclose your details to rest of the world.
On DERO blockchain smart contracts details are transparent on blockchain but not user details.

Personally I think Ravencoin and Pigeoncoin have great potential for 2018 and are both easy to mine.
