Was mining Gobyte with my GTX 1070-i5 4770 until mid Jan.

But, as I used my PC for mining only during sleep hours (7-8hrs approx) the rewards is like £0.10p per day according to WTM website. Worth mining in the hope the coins drastically raise in the near future?

Go with Gridcoin (GRC). You can find out more details at https://www.gridcoin.us/

Choose the projects that are CPU-only to ensure you do not "lose out" against contributors with GPUs.

The great thing about GRC is that you win regardless of whether GRC appreciates in value because you have made a valuable contribution towards scientific research.

I've got a Ryzen 7 CPU and taking your recommendation I started using it for the scientific programs on BOINC.  Seems like a legit usage of my spare PC power.

However, I cannot find any information on how to turn my credits (over 500,000 now) into Gridcoin.

Is anyone aware of a video or tutorial on how to redeem credits for Gridcoin?

Gridcoin still supports GPU, why not use a coin that is entirely CPU Only?
BiblePay is entirely CPU Only and rewards coins for two CPU Only science projects: Rosetta@home and World Community Grid

NOTE: 38.5% of all BiblePay coins go towards Cancer Research (healing and curing)

Also in order to get paid for research with Gridcoin, you have to stake coins for many months!,
With BiblePay, all CPU science researchers are paid every day from the blockchain

=

BiblePay is the #1 Team currently contributing CPU cycles to Rosetta@home (protien folding, cancer research)
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/top_teams.php

How to Mine BiblePay:
https://www.biblepay-central.org/en/documentations/mining-how-to/

I will try to mine Biblepay. But can you tell me how much profit I can make in a day
if I mine this with an ordinary laptop?

What do you guys think about hexx coin?

It's main traits are very high anonimity (higher than monero)
and CPU only mining combined with nodes (2000hexx worth).

Has anyone tried it yet?

They announced fork on 31st August, so price will probably pump before that date, and after that it will probably dump hard like most coins do after the fork.
So if you are planning to mine it, be sure to sell it before the fork to maximize your profit or hold the coins on supported wallet or exchange to receive new coins after the fork.

With Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, I can get about 1,000 BBP a day right now from donating my CPU Cycles to Rosetta@home,
at $0.0012 per BBP, that is $1.20 per day! $33-34 per month!

Depends on your CPU, and if you will still be using the laptop,
the program that runs the science projects is named BOINC, it can detect mouse movement and stop the projects from using CPU

I bet you could make at least a third of what I am making above, and you might get lucky,
some of the algorithms actually work better on older machines.

I am actively mining TERA. I think it has the type of potential XDAG showed. Good community, active development, and it's still pretty early. Nakashu gives excellent support as well.
I wrote this yesterday...contains links to the wallet, discord, and ann, and describes the ubuntu setup along with some gotchas that apply to windows or linux.

Best coin to mine with a good CPU ( e.g. Ryzen 7 or better) is Webdollar.
You can mine it directly in just a few seconds using only browser https://webdollar.io/ and choosing one of the available pools ( e.g. my pool - Infinity Pool )
For much better mining results you will need to install a CPP-Miner available with detailed information for Linux or Windows.

This is the coin most easy to mine and especially use, directly from browser.
You can join the Telegram channel and find out more about this great coin : https://t.me/WebDollar

Best coin to mine with CPU are festival coin and flakechain ,still very low hashrate because they are new coins and they are doing fine ,most importantly they are 18million in max supply which I believe its good supply ,you can use miners like xmrig or xmrstack .
