There is still such a coin Excelsior - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5105599.0Algorithm: CryptoNight Soft Shel, no pools, only cpu-mining. There are no exchanges yet, all communication goes on in the discord. Sample: AMD FX-8300, 4200 MHz , 5 thread = 210 h/s. 210*60*60=756000 hash in hours. Diifficulty - http://excelsior.ms-pool.net.ua/# = 2000000 2000000/756000=2.64 Approximately every 2.5-3 hours should find a block. Reward: 99.425 XLS There is one exchange where there is no trading. And yet there seems to be no developer. They're looking for a new developer.

Want to start mining with my spare DL380 Gen9 Server with 2X Xeon E5-2620V2 and 64GB of RAM
there will be no electricity as it is working on a facility supplied with CHP (cogeneration supply system)
do you have something to show me where to start ? i also would like to know what hashrate can i get with this CPUs.

Start off by picking the best CPU coin for you. Since you are going to use a single server, pick a coin you can trust, because you will be mining atleast a year to earn some decent number of coins. After this just download the miner for this coin and run it under Windows or Linux backup your wallet keys and check it in a year.

CPUMiners Club maintains a good list of coins also: Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pkp8tfUK70Fs-HsdKL9PJpEcpcYhnMO0cKylyV8QVt0/edit?usp=sharingDiscord: https://discordapp.com/invite/cc4jCB6I would recommend reading through the ANN (Announcement) page of each coin, and probably the whitepaper of each, You have to do your own research (DYOR) on what is best for you Do you believe in the vision? Do you believe in the team? Do you like how things are set up? I spent many hours reading through coins in the ANN section so I could start learning all the differences and terminology: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

I think that VerusCoin is a promising coin. Komodo is a very interesting ecosystem blockchain. I believe that Verus will become one of the best projects in this ecosystem.

At the present scenario which will be the most profitable coin to mine? I tried a few number of coins but nothing that profitable. Is there any coin that we can make atleast half a dollar per day by mining?

Here is how things are: If you decide to mine a popular currency with a lot of exchanges and value, it has very high difficulty and very small reward (Monero for example). If you want to mine something else, you are going to a "speculative mining". This means you pick a coin or a project in which you believe, start mining for months or years without clear understanding what is going to happen and if you are going to earn something. Then start selling on shady exchanges with high fees and very low volume. So the only certainty you can have is to join some of the coin teams and push the project forward yourself to ensure profit at some point.

This coin was launched a long time ago. Recently there was a transition to a new blockchain. At the same time, the old coins were swap to new coins through the Cratex exchange.

Is that really profitable? Mining with CPU? By using your CPU on 100% you will soon damage it. CPU is not made for 100% power for a long time.

as long as you have good calculations, and good preparation I think it will be profitable. besides, as long as the temperature can still be controlled it will be fine. I've seen some people use their CPUs for mining, and it looks like it's quite profitable.

I run 3 Ryzen systems 24/7 for nearly 18 months now, flat out, no issues Even if they do break, they have paid for themselves many times over... Is that really profitable? Mining with CPU? By using your CPU on 100% you will soon damage it. CPU is not made for 100% power for a long time.

Are you sure about this? I have a few software that use close to 100% of the CPU, and I need to run them quite frequently for my regular job. My laptop is 4 years old and till now it hasn't shown any signs of damage. On top of that I have also used this same laptop for mining multiple altcoins (both PoW and PoS), during the last 2 years.

That's not true. My CPUs have always worked at 100 % load (first BOINC now Mining) and everything is fine. Of course you have to use a good cooler to keep the temperature in check. But the same applies to GPUs.

With proper cooling, a normal CPU can run at 100% power for many months. Not designed for long-term operation at 100% power CPU in phone.

If you not overclock it and temperature is kept within spec, a desktop CPU can run @ 100% usage for a long time.

The processor is the most reliable part of the computer. it's very difficult to kill modern CPU with a constant 100% load. They are equipped with protection and at a critical moment CPU simply turns off. CPU power consumption is large enough, although you can mine something using CPU, but profit will be very modest. But who knows? Maybe someone has a dozen unnecessary processors ...
