New wallet is working great. No issues at all. There is no reason not to upgrade as soon as possible.
Of course backup your wallet.dat in multiple locations before you do, just in case!

not installed new wallet yet, but we are still safe for few days since it is going to be really mandatory after block 540.000 right?
i am not suggesting to wait till that block but you do not have to rush and forget some fundamental step like backing up wallet.dat and private keys ;-)

Yes. It's 540.000. Better do it now, after you will be skipped from staking. Or even worse. |

Happy to see that I am one of the founders in DeepOnion votecentral, but topbtc exchange doesnt give me a good vibe for some reason...
What do you guys think of topbtc exchange?
Should we pay 7btc to get listed on there? Does anyone have experience using this exchange?
I had never heard of it before DeepOnion was looking to get listed, I wonde how many people are the same. 7 BTC seems like alot but I do not know what the going rate is to get listed. How much are Binance and Bittrex charging for example? Never heard of it either. I think DeepOnion should rather focus on major exchanges. To spend so much money to end up in some unknown exchange is just crazy. Okay, a) it's not unknown just because you don't know it and b) these guys want 7 BTC, if you think that's a lot, wait till you hear how much other exchanges demand. I was just going to say how many of the people who are saying no have used that website? I agree with longlivecapitalism here and would defer to those who have used the website. Objectively speaking it is a top 25 exchange which is nice and 7 BTC amounts to ~35,000 onions. We are opposed paying 1% of the dev fund to get listed on a decent exchange? That to me seemed like a win and I voted yes on VoteCentral. Curious as to why some members think 1) That is too much 2) Why TopBTC is a bad exchange If you could clarify your thoughts on the matter, it would help. I know we want to focus on major exchanges but you have to start somewhere, Rome wasn't built in a day. |

I am the same, just haven't had a chance to get on the computer and don't want to rush it. I have set aside some time tomorrow to upgrade. |

Not yet, but there is a proposal on vote central. I am not sure if it was just about the export or also about the import of private keys. Yes, it's true, for now, we are moving by huge step forward. I thought only approved members can view VoteCentral contents... I didn't know that VC contents are available to the public for viewing. This gives a stronger impression about VC when non-members can visit and see what is happening. |

Voted! Voted on everything and got all my tasks done in there actually... I voted yes for the Electrum and Ledger indefinitey. Not many coins have hardware wallet capability, and IIRC there is only 1-2 other privacy coins with that ability at all. This would be a definite win for onion. The other however... I think our currrent GUI is fine even for the newest novice crypto user. We dont need a night/day or light/darkmode.... In my opinion the latest GUI updates make the wallet near perfect as it is. I wouldn't see why this needs to be a proposal and require dev funds, as wallet upgrades and GUI upgrades should just come in time with development... freely? |
