My wallet has stopped synchronizing today, is anyone experiencing the same problem? I'm still having the olf wallet, didn't upgrade it to the newest yet - could that be playing a role?

He probably thinks that he needs to resync with the blockchain but there is no need for that. Procedure is just download zip with new wallet, extract it, close the old wallet if it is running and start new wallet from extracted folder.
Of course it is highly recommended to make multiple backups of your wallet.dat file just in case.

Onion is down because the coins were airdropped for free to the public. I didn't expect that hodlers will dump but unfortunately, this is typical for an airdropped coin.
The airdrop wasn't the end, it was the beginning... many things are being actively developed now... we will see what will happen after DeepSend is released.
