My laptop got stolen a few hours ago. It had all my data including bitcoin too.
Fortunately I had the seeds with me and I have now installed Electrum on my work machine and recovered the wallet with those keys.
It also asked for a password and I have gone with a new one. The wallet is still Synchronizing.

Now my question is, are my bitcoins safe now? Do I need to do anything else? The stolen laptop has the electrum in it, what else should I do to make sure that my bitcoins are secure?

The best way is to create new wallet and transfer all bitcoins into new wallet. I think it will be the best option for you

Your BTC should be safe, but remember to send all to a new wallet. Try to recal what other data (other coins seeds, passwords, dat files, email login or etc) you have in your stolen laptop, and move those coins as well.

If you have the private keys like you say you do. Yes, they are safe for now. I suggest you create another wallet and transfer those bitcoins ASAP. The thief might find the private keys and steal your bitcoins. So don't waste any more time. Do it now.

Pretty much what the previous replies said. Quite unlikely that the thief knows anything about bitcoin, but don't take any risks. Transfer them to a new wallet.

Also, CHANGE YOUR ACCOUNT PASSWORDS. If you've been using that laptop for some time, chances are you probably saved some passwords for convenience sake on your browser in the past. There are programs that can extract this, hence the thief gaining access to your password/s. Don't risk it. Change your passwords.

If you send all your Bitcoins to a new wallet with a DIFFERENT password you will be 100% safe. If you use the same password and that is on your laptop, I don't know if that could imply any risk, but better avoid it to be 100% safe.

Better to move your funds into new safer wallet or create a new one sir! If the one who stole your laptop does'nt know about bitcoin your funds is safe but, we can't garantee that is 100% safe. As i said move it to a new one that you're the only one knos the seeds and password.

Thank goodness for your smart actions. Now create a new wallet and move every coins from this present wallet to the new one. Change the password of the first wallet that you recovered. Do not leave any coin there no matter how small always move them the new wallet you have created.

If you have a complicated password (preferably with capital letters and numbers) and it is not saved somewhere on your laprop then it is almost impossible to crack your private key. I've seen people desperately trying to remember their password for years without any progress. But for better safe you better move your funds to a new wallet.

After you have done all the things mentioned above, sit back, relax a bit, and after go to Trezor's or Ledger's website and buy yourself a hardware wallet. It's small, you can keep it on your keychain (only Ledger, not Trezor) or you can put it into your safe box at home, and your coins will be safe. I don't know how frequently you use your bitcoin wallet to send bitcoins, but a hardware wallet will fit your habits if you just gather bitcoins and also if you receive and sent them frequently.

If you have you keep your password secret then  you wallet is safe.

I think it would be safe to assume that it is safe and just to never use that wallet address ever again. This just shows how important it is to have your keys for your wallet or even better a hardware wallet.

The thief would probably reformat your laptop before he can use it, so it is probably safe. But just to be sure, sweep your wallet into a light wallet so you do not have to sync it. Then transfer it to a new wallet. Also put high fees so it will confirm fast or else you may also risk the thief double spending your transaction. Good luck!

if you keep your private key, then you can access the wallet that is in the stolen laptop
you should create a new wallet and transfer all the contents there for security

Most likely safe, but actually not safe until you transfer your coins to a new wallet.
Transfer asap.

Just like others have said already it's safe. It takes much more time to bruteforce the password or decrypt a wallet than it will take to synchronize your new one. I'm pretty sure nobody would be able to break in even if they spent whole 2018 trying, provided that you have a decent password and it's not written down somewhere on your machine. People tend to reuse passwords and only slightly change the combination. For instance your wallet password is bullcrap666 and your email password that's saved up on your browser is bullshit666. A skilled hacker will use every hint they can find, so if you have reused passwords or have saved personal data in your browser or extensions consider them all compromised.

Create a new wallet just to be sure your coins wont be compromised by this thief.

Theoretically, it should not be a problem after changing the password. But for safety, Kolaga is right. It's better to transfer everything to the new wallet.

I recommend you to transfer money to another wallet. Anyway, all you lose — time for creating new wallets and transactions fees. But it would be better for you.
My friend has more than $ 10k BTC and altcoins. He stores all coins on different wallets, like Ledger Nano S and Exodus.

you are still lucky (I'm not joking on your misfortune), but  if the burglar doesn't know that your laptop contain information about your bitcoins accounts,,
If your laptop has password on it they need to reformat it to open and use it before selling them to their customer, or before they may use it they also need to format your laptop,
you are safe if-----if---- it will happen that way,,

but just to stay safe and ignore the word "if" change your accounts passwords....

since they cant open your accounts if you change them all...
