No you are not too late. We're still in the very early stages of the crypto world. Crypto allows for us to transfer digital assets; to make micropayments; to be send and keep track of these payments (micro or not) at a very low cost. (Don't be concerned about transaction fees with BTC. There are a whole slew of reasons for that. Ultimately BTC may not be the currency used for micropayments)

You need to learn:

Start with Bitcoin. Read the whitepaper; learn about the block chain; be comfortable with the technology involved and then expand your knowledge to Ethereum. Then, after that, keep learning. There is so much here; so much potential that it won't be too late 5 years from now.

The internet monsters - Google did not have its IPOs until almost 2004. Over a decade after Mosaic and other graphical browsers came into being. Amazon, when it went public in the late 1990s, was not a power house.

There will be many, many such opportunities in the coming years.

Me too im still a newbie when it comes here in bitcoin so what i did is read a lot of discussion here and i guarantee that it will help or enlightened you on bitcoin. Im not saying that these trends will continue and not saying that they will not, the point is that the further you delay the more you are going to wish you got in yesterday. Comparing Cryptos to other currencies is a better comparison than the one above because at the end of the day Cryptos are currencies. More interestingly enough, Cryptos are a global currency meaning anyone with an internet connection can access.

I don't think you are too late but to be honest, it is getting tougher and tougher now and now that you have joined at this time, you will have to work harder to get the kind of gains others have done in the past. Even I feel like I am a bit late for the big party, but if you play your cards right and are careful and know when to sell and buy, you might still make some considerably nice gains in 2018. I lost a lot in this last bear run but still I am up from last year so things are not going too badly but I could have done much better if I had sold all my stash at the top and probably would have had 80% more stuff now so am focusing primarily on earning coins instead of trading right now.
