I do not think you're late in this field since most people in the world, especially in a developed country, are starting to hear about Bitcoin and blockchain and less than 10% of these people do not have bitcoin. Personally, I think that crypto-currencies are not yet ready for the mainstream because most projects have scaling issues and this year I think that BTC and ETH will solve this problem

Yeah, to those users who are newbie here is never been too late but earning thousands or even million your so late. Chances to those newbie is still possible but you need to do extra effort since here in bitcoin community getting many and I don't think it's easy to earn thousands of dollar which as of this time you need to gain more idea and knowledge all about crypto currencies.
